Im sure we've all givin this deep thought. But would anyone mind sharing what they think the new system will look like after HAR-ME-GEDON. Sometimes im not sure if its going to be like the "Jetsons" or if everything will be green.....grassy and such, with small communities. I've also wondered how far will Jehovah allow us to advance in technology. Oh yeah......whats up with those "New Scrolls"?
oh. one more thing! for those of you who have the "upward calling". Ive always wondered what or how you precieve your life in the heavens.....what do you think it will be like? what do you expect to see??

Hi there LittleValue!! I expect that after Harmeggedon it will be a mess...that those of us left over will have the privilege of cleaning up!!! In my opinion, that will be a joy knowing that it will never be a mess again. Maybe for the first time in my life, flowers will actually cooperate and grow. I want roses, gardenias, violets, lilac, lily of the valley, and anything else that smells really nice!!!
Once it's cleaned up, I expect there will be plenty of greenery, homes scattered and low lying (no more skyscrapers)...natural heat (solar and fireplaces), natural cooling, (plenty of breezes from water and mountains). Wildlife that's not afraid of us...singing birds on my finger, butterflies everywhere, nosy pandas, big scratch behind the ears leopards, lions, etc, sweet little squirrels, and chipmunks. I could go on and on...

no more skyscrapers[/b]
Hi Jammin
What's wrong with skyscrapers? I like skyscrapers. I had my heart set on designing and building a really huge one. :Yahoo_51: How about buildings that look like giant precious gems?
I imagine it would be a big mess, at least in places where civilization is concentrated, which, amazingly, is only a relatively small percentage of the earth. There will probably be a lot of fire and smoke, but Jehovah won't let it get so far that the place is dangerous, you know, like from too much nuclear fallout or something. I believe that Jehovah will have to do some healing of the earth, or at least speed up it's built-in repair mechanisms. But you would be surprised how quickly a great crowd of people working in unison can get things done, even if we had to do everything by hand!
Other than that, if you guys by some chance haven't read this, (Heather I'm sure you have) you'll love it, one of Robert's finest works: Imagining Paradise (http://e-watchman.com/commentaries/imagining-paradise.html)

Hi LittleValue-
To me it isn't so much about what I see but how it feels. How it feels to know that I will not have to worry about sickness or accidents and the anxieties that accompany them. Money and food will never be a problem. There will be friends that can be trusted and their love and companionship will be forever. Our efforts will succeed and bring enormous joy compared to the neverending hassles we experienc today.
In essence, we will find our exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. I'm not sure I can fully comprehend that concept at the moment - but I'm willing to give it a try!
Of course, at first there will be a bunch of work to do but there will be joy in the accomplishments we make.

I agree with your view. The most inviting aspect of God's promised new world is the abundance of peace that will prevail. I don't know if you have read this but I wrote a little piece a few years ago on <a href="http://e-watchman.com/commentaries/imagining-paradise.html" target="_blank">Imagining Paradise

Yes sir, Mr. Watchman! It is a very good article. I think I have devoured everything you have written on that site.

Yes, it will be great, and anything but boring. Personally, I've always imagined myself building a ship in paradise. A huge sailing ship, a bit like those old pirate ships, but without the cannons of course. I'll live on it, explore the world with it, take people on cruises... ahh...

Berean...that's where my "handle" comes from...ever tried sailing the Windjammer fleet in the Caribbean?! I've taken about 9 or 10 trips since '89 and island hopping mostly the Grenadines. Try it sometime...you'll like it. Just hang with the crew instead of the drunken passengers!!!

I haven't actually sailed yet, it's just a dream of mine - I've always been intrigued by maritime history. But if I ever get the means to go on such a cruise as you mentioned, I definitely will (otherwise I'll just have to wait till I can build my own ship). Thanks for the tip! :)

The first thing that comes to mind is the restful odour that will permeate across the earth as Satan and his system will have been done away with. A the present we can only think of it in terms with our imperfect minds as we have no real understanding of what it is to be perfect even though Jesus gave us some insight.
How do I see myself? I see a large house somewhere near the coastline. A house that is alive with activity, a house that hasn't been corrupted by the influence of this system. I see my children growing up and not knowing what bad is as only what is good is present. I see them as young and innocent and remaining that way until they are old enough to marry themselves and enough their own children and their children's children.
I envision a large kitchen in the house that acts as the engine room, a place to eat and enjoy the company of your family.
We will come to realise the joy of giving. The work of my own hands I will give to others and expect nothing in return, what I make will be theirs.
I envision wonderful transport networks made up of cannels, sailing ships an other means of travel that products being shipped from all over the world. Let's say I make beautiful cabinets I just place it on a ship and of it goes where I don't known, others make goods and do the same it will be a system of given.
And of course there will be new scrolls, and new directions.
So as Pop Larkin would say in the Darling Buds of May, it all sounds 'PER-FIC'
Ho yes and village cricket along with tea and cream cakes in the pavilion all very civilized
'The last time I played in a village cricket match, I was given LBW first ball. That sort of umpiring should be looked into'</span></span></span>

This is topic I dwell on a lot. I'm glad to see others think of it too. I really like everyone's ideas on this.
The work to be done will be satisfying and productive. Think of all the things we can learn when our minds are opened up and we are taught directly from Jesus and Jehovah!
Gardening without fighting all the pests and diseases, going on hikes without worrying about bears and mountain lions; plenty of food for all and space for everyone to live comfortably.
I am still hoping that there will be snow in some parts and warm in others so we can ski, swim, sail, hike, ride, whatever...just without the extreme weather conditions.
We can learn music, cooking, gardening, art, the list goes on and on!
