You will see it will help you with the Holy Spirit and get you through some tuff spots in this life, and I think it is fun to actually conduct your own congregation in your own house. For I have a sign hanging in our home, saying … “As for my family and me, we will serve Jehovah.” Joshua 24: 15,

I agree fully with you Olrono on the importance of having a regular Family Bible Study. As the family head that is your God-given responsibility to give spiritual instruction to your wife and children or others living under your household roof. But unfortunately, if you as a family head are DF'd, and your wife or children are still in the congregation in good-standing, they will not be "allowed" or "permitted" to sit in on such a Study conducted by you nor will they be permitted to fellowship spiritually or receive spiritual instruction from you according to the unscriptural man-made D-fing rules of the WTS.

Now the other point you addressed (regarding the UN NGO matter), and perhaps I am somewhat naive here, but how can anyone be DF'd for just asking a question to any elder regarding something they had heard or seen on the Internet about this matter? You can not be DF'd for only asking a question. It is only if or when you do not accept the explanation as given by the WTS, and/or if you are promoting or spreading details about the matter to others with the intention of causing dissent in the congregation that you can be DF'd.

If you or anyone chooses not to believe the explanation from the Society, or believe they (the WTBTS) are lying, it would IMHO be best to keep quiet about the matter, unless you were willing to suffer the unjust consequences of being DF'd. But I do not believe that just asking about the matter can get you before a Judicial Commitee. It is only by not accepting the so-called official "explanation" from the WTS which was sent in response to questions from the various Branch Offices about the matter, or by spreading the details of the matter to others who were not aware of the matter could you end up in the hot seat before a JC over this.

Now I am certainly open to correction or a change of opinion on this. If you or any others have anything to share with me on this as far as your personal experience in being dealt with by the elders regarding the UN NGO matter- please do share that with me.

But as far as studying the Bible with one's family, nothing could be more important. And I would not do it just for appearance sake to others, but I would do it out of love for my family, and my desire to inculcate God's Word in to their minds and hearts.

I have to agree with Doubting Thomas on this one that as an individual is not disfellowshipped for questioning the NGO membership. However, when one does question it you can come under suspicion as to where you got the information from in the first place and how you formed your argument. So if you are going to question it you will need the facts from the horse's month, the UN's DPI web site. My advice for now is to drop it as the answer will come back as the library card.

I can not, and will not stop speaking the Truth about this matter! I thank God I found fellow believers who share my deepest thoughts and prayers. I believe when our fellow brothers at the Hall see the Society fall apart, the ones with home study groups will be there to help them through the tribulation.

Hi Orlono,

I certainly can understand your love for Jehovah and truth.

Finding out so much is indeed an eye opener isn't it Orlono.

When we first learned/became aware of issues we are shocked :icon_eek: , hurt, angry, we feel we have been lied to , betrayed all these things and more may overwhelm, bombard our minds.

I know when I became aware of all the NGO, etc. I was outraged! Really affected. After spending a lifetime in the org I was floored. (over 30 YEARS IN THE ORG.)

However, you must personally do what you feel Jehovah is DIRECTING ORLONO TO DO THROUGH HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

This is something EXTREMELY PERSONAL BETWEEN you and Jehovah.

What he reveals to Orlono, may not be what he is revealing to Eyes & Ears or others. So we cannot expect all others to express their concerns in the same way we personally express it. This does not mean others do not care, it is just they may have a different way of looking at these issues and handling them OKEY DOKEY ORLONO.

We also are aware others don't know what to do or how to do anything at the present time. It is an extremely shocking and overwhelming matter for anyone who finds out these things, so they need time to sort things out, and if they are wise, they will take time, count the cost of their actions if any, and WILL WAIT FOR JEHOVAH TO TELL THEM HOW TO HANDLE MATTERS, IF HE WANTS THEM /US TO HANDLE ANYTHING FOR HIM AT ALL.

Whatever your choices are, be prepared for the repercussions, and just do what you feel Jehovah is telling YOU PERSONALLY needs to be done.

But make sure it is to JEHOVAH'S VOICE THAT YOU ARE LISTENING TO OKEY DOKEY.

Many of us here have already spoken out (MYSELF INCLUDED) and I am on the outside looking in. So my heartfelt loving words to you are as stated in Mt 10:16 LOOK! I AM SENDING YOU FORTH AS SHEEP AMIDST WOLVES; THEREFORE PROVE YOURSELVES CAUTIOUS AS SERPENTS AND YET INNOCENT AS DOVES.

Also remember Ezekiel Chapter 34, Jehovah will take care of what needs to be taken care of especially when dealing with those in positions of leadership. (and I know you know all of this Orlono).

I am just expressing my love to you as a Christian and my concern OKEY DOKEY, not talking down to you my brother. I am just a lowly pea brained human being who has BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT, BUT WOULD HAVE DONE IT A DIFFERENT WAY IF I HAD OF WAITED ON MY FATHER JEHOVAH AND NOT LET MY EMOTIONS, PAIN, ANGER, SHOCK LEAD ME INSTEAD OF JEHOVAH'S SPIRIT.

BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL, If YOU ARE NOT well as Doubting Thomas said you will be DF'D. PERIOD!! If I had to do it all over again Orlono, I would do it differently. OKEY DOKEY. Just be careful and follow the leadings of Jehovah's Spirit. Let Jehovah do his work, and you do what ORLONO FEELS JEHOVAH IS TELLING HIM TO DO.

PERSONALLY ORLONO, I HAVE COME A LONG WAY SINCE LEARNING ALL OF THESE THINGS AND I NOW UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF MATTHEW 10:16.

Love to you and your family Orlono and the best to you always

you need to think carefully, give yourself some time a few weeks or months, you have to remember that to speak out at this time will mean a one-way ticket for you my brother.

Olrono,

in Britain we have a saying "there's more than one way of skinning a cat!" It means you can achieve your objective in more than one way. So think clever.
If you want to alert others to the issue, do so once you are back in the congregation and do it below the radar, so to speak.
If you are also fully aware now that this issue is just one of many affecting the WTS, and more especially the lack of understanding of many of the prophetic scriptures, you will realsie that your freeness of speech (when the time comes to speak) should be guarded jealously.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 & 7 The time will come for speaking openly, until then help those you can without buying that one way ticket Kenneth mentions.

In fact, I really spend too much time here on the net, I have let down on my study time a little but it has helped in other ways just to know, I am not alone. I have fellow Brothers and Sisters here too. They were never JW’s before, you could say they are my “Bible Studies”, and we don’t have any of the “Watchtower hang – ups”, as you may find in the organization today. Since I have been following E-Watchman’s web, I have come to the conclusion, that our group alone couldn’t accomplish the ‘world wide preaching work’, and I better just let the Spirit work where it’s going to work. But as for me, I will not share in any of the WTS’s sins. I thought about it, it would be “neat” to have all of us go to the local Kingdom Hall here and visit, but I think they would call the police after they all would speak up on the NGO affair!

When I look back at my family, I know how blessed I was and I wouldn’t trade places with anyone, I hate to see what has happened to our younger brothers and sisters in this world now. When some one wants to know about JW’s, that’s what they where, God’s People!

I got remarried 2 days before 9/11 and needless to say nothing got off to a normal start. Thank God we weren't honeymooning and didn't get stuck anywhere, but my wife has 2 children from a previous marriage and they live with us. My whole life changed that day as did everybody elses, but for me it was a different reason. I knew after that we were heading for the GT. So I went back to meetings, and I was bringing my wife and then she started bringing her kids! We had a home study going and it was great.

I found what I had always found, even though it was the 5th congregation I had been associated with in my life, and that was all the problems that we discuss here on a daily basis. My wife never said anything negative, but now I'm finding out that it didn't put our faith in a good light in her mind. From there I went through a deep depression period during which I became a workaholic. After I finally sold my business and cut my hours in half, I was planning on getting our relationship back on track and making another attempt at going back to the meetings. But I got sidetracked onto 9/11 research and found e-Watchman, so once again my wife has been on the backburner.

So our relationship is under stress, and I'm now focusing on getting a family study going again. The problem is that she now knows all about the Watchtower, just like we do. She's an Episcopal, and I can tell you all that I love all the people in her church, they're all wonderful, just the same as the Witnesses were wonderful. But never would any of them even consider shunning someone just because they didn't agree with the church. Yes its true that they really know so little and discuss it even less, that it really doesn't matter what you may or may not believe about Christianity. Yes the holidays are a minor problem but I deal with it. She does volunteer work for her Church, and when it involves directly assisting the needy and the homeless, I get involved and I love the work. All the people are wonderful. This is why I never believed the organization. I believe that my wife has just as much a chance as anyone else to survive this thing, and maybe her mother and brothers, too. They're all wonderful people and are loyal Churchgoers. Now I may be surprised when things really go down, and maybe not. The bottom line is that I have a clean conscience before Jehovah, and if I were active in the org, I would probably be disfellowshipped for it.

On top of this, about a year ago I had this very long, spill-my-guts conversation with a Bethel brother who is an elder in my mother's congregation, after having a similar converation with another Brother who know me since childhood, who is very high up at Bethel, about 2 years before that. Neither one of them ever called me back, which to me is just absolutely brutal. My wife sees all of this. What do you think she thinks of our spiritual paradise?

On the other hand. she has seen me quit smoking, renew my relationship with my mother and my 2 sisters, after not speaking to any of them for many years. And I also spend a lot more time with my own 2 children from my first marriage, 2 teenage boys who are being raised Catholic, but that's a whole other conversation. I'm only 4 months into re-discovering the truth and I have a lot of things to work on, but better late than never. We're in the 11th hour.

So that's our deal, I'd love to get a study going but things need to be worked on, on my part.

Hi Jeshurun, you know I found the same thing, sometimes I find my self at this computer to long! And when we do nightly Bible reading you will see the wife’s really love to see the husbands take a spiritual lead in the home. I am going to make this my only DB and deleted all the others and concentrate on our nightly Bible reading and our home meeting for tomorrow. This is a good step for all of us I believe. Do you think bro. Watchman has this trouble too?

Hello, O’l Rono here! I wish to bring this tread up again to perhaps encourage some who haven’t, to start a regular home Bible study with your families. And those who do have them on going, please report to us here to help encourage others. We are in the last days, and that “one eyed monster” the TV is killing families!
