The beauty of the photograph’s each day in the “Praising Jehovah Daily” box on the Main Menu Home Page of this web site continue to amaze me. These are truly some of the most amazing and awesome photos I have ever seen. Are these photograph’s copyright protected? If so, are they available for purchase in any publication? Who is the photographer for these fine pieces of art?

Most of the photos I use have been purchased from i-stock photos. They are from various photographers. And yes, they are copyrighted. I purchase the use of them for about a dollar apiece. I think the purchase agreement stipulates that I have to post credits to the individual photographer but since I just display them for one day I don't think that is necessary, so i don't.

The licensing terms from istockphoto stipulate that use does not require that the individual photographer be given credit to meet copyright law standards, but rather that if the photographer has embedded copyright information into the actual photograph, it may not be removed. The other licensing stipulation is that said photograph is not to be used for reselling purposes (in other words, buy the photograph license, and then make Tshirts for sale, etc.)

All copyright laws of the United States are followed on this Discussion Board and its affiliated sites.

Ah, that's good to hear. I was getting worried there about copyright laws... anyway, those pictures are very nice. A question though: would it be possible for members of the site to submit pictures? I (as well as others on this board, I imagine) like photography myself - although I'm only an amateur - and I thought it might be a nice idea? If not, that's okay too. :)
