I have a question that I've been thinking about for a long time, and never gotten a satisfactory answer to:
How do you know that you are one of the anointed? What does it "feel like", or however it's like? I know the standard literature answer, "The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God's children" (Romans 8:16), but that doesn't say much to someone who is longing to live right here on Earth.
I mean, you still like being down here doing earthly stuff while you're still here, right? Being out in nature, gardening, cooking stuff like that? How do you picture life as a spirit body? Do you long for it, just like the other sheep long for spending time down on Earth in all eternity?
I'm not trying to sound silly, nor do I want to offend anyone in any way. If it's a stupid question, or too personal, I apologize! But seriously, I am really curious to know.

( Quote from Mr Cook ) How do you picture life as a spirit body? Do you long for it, just like the other sheep long for spending time down on Earth in all eternity.(quote )
Dear bro Cook
I feel every question deserves a answer,so I hate to see this run off the board with out at least one post/
When I Became a JW it was in Pittsburgh where many of those called were still alive and in the surounding cong,( years ago ). The sister that studied with me had married into a family that all had the hevenly hope, so I was always among that group.
Might add that when bro Carry Barber who was new in the circuit work was assigned to our circuit he was delighted as he was among his bros and sisters.
Our circuit was his second, so he felt at home with our cong.and just loved being assigned to the city.
This also gave me the oppertunity to also get to know him.
Now his wife Sydneys hope was to live here on earth .
I was a companion to a older sister who coulnd't be alone after a stay in the hospital
I would stay with her until her husband came home from work.
One day I asked her the very question you asked, 'How do you know ".?
She replied,
She was raised when thats the only hope there was for those then.
She longed to be with her mom & dad singing before the throne of Jehovah.
Every afternoon she would read a chapter from the book of Jonn to me.
She would more then read it she would stop and imprint in our minds the scenes she read about.
Where you could really mind see.
Those who were as Jesus put it " by their fruits you shall know them."( his brothers )
There never was any class distinction, and the only way one knew who had the heavenly hope was when you seen them partake at the Memorial.
Jehovah was her whole life, she looked forward to the day that she could be where her heart was.
Well Bro Cook thats the best I can give you.
Always being with that group, I still have the hope of living here on earth
That proves that Jah never leaves us with out a hope,
if we don't have a hope ,then its time to really pray and draw close to Jahs word, cause only Gods enemy would want to rob one of their HOPE.

I can't really get into my feelings on the issue. I see things quite a bit differently from the rest of the forum on this one. But, either way...
I think your best bet would be to ask one of those here on the forum that have the heavenly hope...there are a few, I believe...as they would be in the best position to answer that from experience. I plan on seeing the entire world, and hopefully several other worlds, as well, as a human being gifted with everlasting life in obedience to my Father...so I'm not entirely qualified to speak on the matter. But, if you want to ask me what I see for my future, I'd be happy to oblige; I'm sure I can think of a few hundred million years worth of stuff to do off the top of my head. :D
I pray you find the answers you seek.
