As has been noted by others on this board, there have been a number of comments on the situation in recent weeks but as I live in Britain this has been well flagged in the media, as indicated by the number of UK media links in your blog. Is it being as widely reported in the US?

No. Americans are, for the most part, oblivious. (For that matter, so are Jehovah's Witnesses)

I watched an interesting programme last night about the bees and how they are becoming extinct. In one place in china they already cease to exist and people are hand pollinating the plants. It's a lenghty and ultimatly expensive task. It makes you appreciate how wonderfully Jehovah made things to do their job. The documentary brought out that if we don't want to end up just living on wheat rice and corn we need to do something to stop the extinction of these insects. Of course its the wheat and the rice that are not being exported and becoming harder to comeby themsleves. So goodness knows what will be left.
It made me wonder if the bees are being killed off on purpose. If there is nothing to pollinate the seeds we have then maybe it's at that point we are supposed to become dependant on the UN to provide for us. I don't know - just guessing.

The NY Times has an interesting articles about the bees. It seems they are latching on pathogens or pesticides as main causes.
