Does anyone have a clue as to the meaning of the seven years in verse 9? This scripture seems to be speaking of the Great Tribulation, and it is one of the many places in prophecy where there seems to be a period of seven years tied in with the Day of Jehovah. I'm still suspecting that from the time of the Anglo-American collapse, or the beginning of WWIII, whichever comes first, until Armageddon, will be seven years. Also, the seven months in verse 12, to clean up the mess. I hope there will be some bulldozers handy.</div>

Dear Lou-
I believe that Ezekial 39 is about after Gog of Magog (Satan and his hordes) has been destroyed, in other words, after Armaggedon. From what I understand, it is the seven years clean up work after Armaggedon. For seven months there is a fulltime employment to cleanse the earth of the carcasses (after the birds and the wild beasts of the field have their go) and then through the seven years any remaining bones are to be marked for disposal. It is a cleansing period for the earth.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The seven times in Daniel may not be seven literal years, but just an indication of completeness of purpose.
Here are the dates I found in the Bible that correspond to 3-1/2 years:
Daniel 8:13-14 And I got to hear a certain holy one's speaking, and another holy one proceeded to say to the particular one who was speaking: 'How long will the vision of the constant [feature] and of the transgression causing desolation to make both [the] holy place and [the] army things to trample on?' So he said to me: 'Until two thousand three hundred evenings [and] mornings, and [the] holy place will certainly be brought into right condition.'
My comment: This timeframe could be looked at to mean 1,150 days complete days by dividing in two. The Jewish calendar always included evening and morning as the completion of one full day. Divide 1,150 days by 3=almost 3-1/2 years.
Time, Times, Half a Time
Daniel 7:25 And he (king of the north) will speak even words against the Most High, and he will harass continually the holy ones themselves of the Supreme One. And he will intend to change times and law, and they (holy ones) will be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time.
Daniel 12:7 And I began to hear the man clothed with the linen, who was above the waters of the stream, as he proceeded to raise his right [hand] and his left [hand] to the heavens and to swear by the One who is alive for time indefinite: ' It will be for an appointed time, appointed times and a half. As soon as there will have been a finishing of the dashing of the power of the holy people to pieces, all these things will come to their finish.'
Revelation 12:14 But the two wings of the great eagle were given the woman, that she might fly to the wilderness to her place; there is where she is fed for a time and times and half a time.
My comment: Scripturally, a time amounts to one year of 360 days, so the timeframe mentioned here would amount to 3-1/2 years.
Forty-Two Months
Revelation 11:2 But as for the courtyard that is outside the temple [sanctuary], cast it clear out and do not measure it, because it has been given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.
Revelation 13:5 And a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies was given it, and authority to act forty-two months was given it.
My comment: Forty-two months = 3-1/2 years.
1,260 Days
Revelation 11:3 And I will cause my two witnesses to prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days dressed in sackcloth.
Revelation 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days.
My comment: Here again, 1,260 days = 3-1/2 years.
1,290 Days
Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the constant [feature] has been removed and there has been a placing of the disgusting thing that is causing desolation, there will be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.
My comment: This timeframe is a little over the 3-1/2 years.
1,335 Days
Daniel 12:12 Happy and holy is the one who is keeping in expectation and who arrives at the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
My comment: Again, this timeframe is slightly over 3-1/2 years.
If you put these timeframes in context, you will see that the beast of Revelation 13 rules for 3-1/2 years, the preaching of the 2 witnesses is 3-1/2 years, the trampling of Jerusalem is 3-1/2 years, and the holy ones are harassed for 3-1/2 years and finally killed. Some timeframes are a little less or a little more, but I think you get the idea.
When the great tribulation breaks out, all these timeframes will probably begin at approximately the same time. What an exciting and terrifying time it will be to watch this all unfold.
Love,

I hope your right because I don't think I can cope with another 7 years of this system. I have said to myself when it starts I don't care what happens anymore. As for where I sleep, where I eat, how much money I have I don't care, I just want to see the finish line. It's that line that will spur me, you, and others on to the end with our heads held high because deliverance is near.
