Is it me or are these "UFO" sightings becoming more and more frequent over the last 3 months or so?? either that or just more eyes watching the sky??

Yeah, these types of sightings have been more frequent. There have been strange lights in Hawaii and in the Carolinas. There was also that awesome comet that the people in Australia could see. From the naked eye you could definitly make it out and it was much brighter then Haileys.
