Effective immediately, I will no longer activate accounts of registrants that use their real names as their usernames. This is to primarily to protect unsuspecting friends who may be getting "set up" by others by having their names used under false email addresses.
It has been our policy from the Discussion Board's inception to protect the friends, whether they are unsuspecting or they are fully aware of the problems taking place within the organization. Even if you have no "problem" with openly declaring who you are, you will be required to register using a "username" that cannot include your real name. First names are fine, of course. However, if I feel that the username or email address gives away personal information, I will not activate the account. I'd hate to think that there are those who mischievously might register the names of friends in the organization in order to cause trouble for them, but this IS the internet, after all, and I would rather err on the side of caution right now.
I will be making the necessary adjustments in the Registration Agreement in the next day or so.
