Hi everyone,

I haven't yet read any of e-watchman's articles and I was wondering, for a first article, which one would you recommend and why?

Hello Martha, and welcome to the board.

If I may I would recommend reading Who is Blind as the Servant of Jehovah? (http://e-watchman.com/essays/watchtower-blind-servant.html) first. The reason being, because it establishes the fact that Jehovah foresaw that his people would become blind to the prophecies. Many of the essays and commentaries you might read on e-watchman overturn many of the long-held prophetic teachings of the Watchtower Society. For some of Jehovah's Witnesses that might destroy their faith. But if we have some insight into God's future judgments then hopefully our faith will be strengthened rather than shaken.

And if Watchman doesn't mind me saying so try Day of the Locust Attack next for an utterly convincing understanding of Joel, which really puts the misconceptions of the WTS writing department in context!

Welcome aboard Martha - this is where it's at!

Hi Martha

I don't won't to confuse you to much on the matter of which essay to read because as they say you will end up with spiritual indigestion. This essay though is very much in line with the one Watchman recommends, "We have concluded a covenant with death". The reason being it draws a clear parallel with the temple in Jerusalem and the organisation today. The text is based around Jeremiah 7:4 "the temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah!'" and draws the parallel intone that we here so much today, "Jehovah's organization, Jehovah's organization, Jehovah's organization and so forth. I have been setting this essay to memory being convinced that the time will come when the brothers will need a full explanation of what's happened. It's one of the shorter essays so it's not so much to swallow.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions and for the warm welcome. :D

This has now given me a clear focus, instead of the general feeling of overwhelm that I've been experiencing of late.

Thanks again.

Hi Martha,
Welcome!

Where to start...hmmmm... :0095: lots of great things to read around here. I simply started at the beginning of the essays and worked my way down the list.

Dear Martha,
I founf great help and insight from Watchman's book - "Jehovah Himself Has Become King". Sometimes we just need to jump in and eventually it will come together (I hope).
Good to have you with us...
