Please excuse my unknowingness but what is a Podcast? How do you listen or watch or download it if that is what you do with one? :blush:

You don't have to apologize, podcast is just a geek word for recorded audio (video?) program... lol Sorry, I belong to the geek world...

It's usually a mp3 file. You can find them too on every radio or TV internet site broadcasting audio (video?) (mainly mp3) information.

You just have to download the mp3 file unto your hard drive and listen to it with mp3 players like Windows Media Players, VLC, Gom Players and so on. You can as well listen to these files through headphones with mp3 players, and/or Ipods, etc.

OK Thank you for that information. I have heard of Podcast&#39;s and even saw it mentioned on this site and I got brave enough to ask what it was. (I didn&#39;t want to ask my son for fear of never living it down that I am not "Cool" anymore). So it is similar to downloading a song in mp3 format right?

There&#39;s a difference between downloading an mp3 file and listening to a podcast in that the podcast can by definition be subscribed to. This means that a subscriber to a podcast should be able to get an automatic update if/when a new recording has been published from the author (the "podcaster").

The term comes from a mix of the words iPod and broadcast.

Podcasts can also be imbedded with chapters and players such as iPod and iTunes remember where you stopped the podcast so you can listen to the podcast over several sessions instead of listening in one session.

Dear all,

For my part, with an Ipod Schuffle, I can listen to mp3 files downloaded from my favorite radio station, files from e-watchman.com, Awake and WT audio files from http://www.jw.org and my favorite ripped audio CDs. No problems at all.

I don&#39;t need any subscription to anything ! I&#39;m not familiar to subscriptions because I come back every day to my favorite podcast sites to get updates. It just takes a few minutes. You may use subscriptions just as you wish.
