Mark Of The Beast = National Id Cards?

Hello, I keep hearing and reading about how the national id cards that are coming are actually the mark of the beast. I'm not sure I understand the correlation,

What exactly is the mark of the beast?

Don't worry about the mark of the beast. No one has the mark, yet. The mark of the beast is issued after the beast gets the death stroke and then comes back to life. Of course, JW's have been taught that the head of the beast received the symbolic sword stroke back during the First World War, but unfortunately that's complete nonsense. The death of the beast is in the immediate future and will involve the sudden crash of the Anglo-American system of things.

Where does the Watchtower Society fit into this, if at all?

Hi Hot Pie. There is another thread which was started earlier today "The Tribulation - How Long?" which answers some of your questions. But it is the commonly held belief amoung those here and also taught by the WT that the beast coming back to life will be in the form of the United Nations.

In Belgium we all have national ID cards with chip on it. The chip contains all information about us.
The card is also used to secure things on internet, eg to protect chat rooms for childeren so that no adults can enter. For these you need to use your id card to be able to login in the system.

I've often thought about the mark and have wondered whether the mark could even be symbolic. The marks will appear on the forehead (location of our mind which directs our actions) and our hands (which carry out the actions). Boils down to "faith without works is dead = head and hands???
