Great book I just started reading, "After the Flood" by Bill Cooper, look up its reviews on Amazon, Bill spent 25 years reasearching Chapters 10 and 11 of Genesis to see if they where the word of God.
He was hoping for a 40% confirmation of the table of Nations of Genisis with ancient secular records from all parts of the world, he claims he got 99%
The first chapter I just read looks at how most ancient even "Pagen"peoples did have an accurate notion of a single all powerfull Creator even amongst thier many pagan gods, and long before Christianity to the scriptures to them. This would have surely been the case the nearer people where to Adan anyway.
Looks at the works of such philosepers as Plato and the Stoics whose arguments for Creation read very much like our Creation book.
Even back then Earth was considered a Sphere so it probably became forgotten knowledge untill "re-discovered" by Columbus?
Mentions the orderlyness of the Universe both in the Stars and at the atomic level.
Quotes ancient Chinese text that reads very much like Genisis.

Sounds like a great book. Several good films have been made also. Wouldn't it be a great joy for all who love God's Word if the Ark were to be found? The sad part is that it probably wouldn't bring people flocking to the Kingdom Halls...It proves that we need to walk by faith, not by sight.
Bible archeology strengthens our faith in wonderful ways -- so keep on reading!

I always thought that some of the ark's remains were found on Mt. Ararat. Not true?
I'll have to google it!

There is a book out there somewhere called 'In search of Noah's Ark', I read it in the 80s. It offered compelling evidence that the Ark was still up on Ararat split in two. One of the reasons why archeologists were never allowed up there was down to the cold war and the CIA using an expedition as an excuse to spy on the Russians. The Book maintains that a group of Russians troops had taken photographs of it before the Bolshevik revolution but were destroyed afterwards to dispel any idea that the Bible could be correct. The Ark was in one piece at the time but split into two after an earthquake some time later. There are individuals all over the world who have claimed to have walked on the Ark. There are also plenty of books written on the subject and are well worth a read. I personally think that Noah's Ark still rests on Mount Ararat to this day but there are many reasons why we don't have access to it. One is that Muslims believe that the Ark came to rest on another mountain and would thus prove a huge embarrassment to Islam should it be found on Ararat. Secondly, what would happen if they were to find it, who would claim it as their's Islam, Judaism or Christianity. Would people bow down to it and treat it as an idol. From what I have read there's plenty of evidence to suggest the Ark is still there, but does Jehovah want it to be found or just kept hidden from the public gaze.

Then I would think that the Ark should be visible from satellite images. It's certainly big enough. I think when I have some time I'll check it out. After all, I can find my house, why not the Ark?

If I remember correctly satellites were mentioned in the book, but NASA would not release them that though was thirty years ago. I’m sure with some investigation we maybe able to find it. Could it have lasted this long? Yes. If we consider what the Ark was made of and the fact it has been preserved in ice even if its not whole, parts of it must still be there.

Kenneth What do you think about the Ark of the Convenant?? There are many reports that the ark rest in ethiopia....spell that right? anyway they have several men who are extreamly loyal to the ark and will not allow anyone to go near it except for the chosen few who are chosen to gaurd it. No one knows for sure if what they claim is true. But many are believing that perhaps it is. My question is Should the ark be exposed to the public or remain hidden? after all these years im thinking perhaps Jehovah has something to do with reason why the ark remains so elusive from the public.

We could find ourselves entering the world of Indiana Jones and 'raiders of the lost ark'. I haven't read much on the subject but I have heard it's being guarded in Ethiopia, although much of this is supposition.

Cant remember why, but I allways though the ark of the Covenant was in Heaven?
As for the Ethiopeans having it, I also seem to remember something about a copy being mad and the Ethiopeans having the copy, along with numerious copies as I think I read that a lot of their churches have an Ark in them.
As for Noahs Ark, Josephus reports that people of his time would cut pieces off the Ark to wear as lucky talismans, so yes, it was there in recorded histroy, and maybe there isnt a lot of it left, imagine the money to be made seling lucky bits of Noahs Ark.

I dont know Nambo...Ive alwaysa wondered how would the world change if Peope actually got their hands on the Ark of the COVENANT (????) I wondered if there would be anything inside it...such as "The 10 words". Because they are reported to have been written by the finger of God himself...if it would help the preservation of the tablets. Anyway...probably if we were to gain access to it satan would probably use certain men to try and pervert it like he does with everthing else. Oh!.....what need does Jehovah have with a material ark nambo?

Don’t forget, the first copy written by God with His finger Moses smashed and was broken so he had to go get another that was written by Moses hand.

So this fella who spent 25 years looking at all these ancient genioligies from so called pagan cultures from differant parts of Europe has reported that thier geneiologies all converge back at a certain past to read the same list of names going back to Japheth to Noah.
These pre-Christian cultures hadnt all manufactured thier ancient history as modernists claim in order to back the Genisis account, for these where pre-Christian, no, these where the scattered nations accounts of thier own family history, showing they all had the common ancestery as recorded in Genesis.

That's interesting. Since we're currently learning something about genealogies in college, I read something about the genealogy project that's run by the Mormons. As you may or may not know, they believe they are to baptize the dead, so they have an extensive genealogy project running, which now has the ancestors of 1 billion people. Of course while the reason for the project is shady, this genealogy database has proven its use for science as well, and one of the interesting facts that came out of it is that everyone alive is related to each other, suggesting a common ancestor. In fact, any random person you see on the streets, on television, or on the Internet, or wherever, is at most your 50th cousin.

Why there was a population explosion and why the industrial revolution started in the Britain during the eighteenth century is uncertain. The Doomsdays survey in England 1086 placed the population at about 3.5 million. By 1750 the population of England and Wales have hardy shifted it stood at about 6.5 million. The figure for Britain as a whole by 1821 had reached 20.9 million that included Scotland and Ireland. The 1901 census placed the population at 41.5 million. It now stands at about 60 million. We had to allow for immigration and migration but still the British population had double between the 1821 and 1901. If we were to trace our ancestor many of us here in the UK would share the same Grandparents. If we were to use this model on a world scale it would take us back to Adam and Eve.</span></span> </span>
