Good morning all
With all the violent weather touching so many areas recently, it has impressed upon me just how fragile our lives are and why Jehovah encourages us not to place our trust in material things. I pray all are safe as well as your families. Prayers out to all affected by all this horrible weather, tornadoes, snow, ice, rain whatever.
Losing ones homes, belongings and means for taking care of ourselves and our families and being displaced is very devastating (for lack of a better word right now), not to mention the shocking loss of loved ones so totally unexpected. It reminded me when these unforseen occurrences take place, how all material possesions and our lives could be gone in just a twinkling of an eye. Life as we knew it 2 seconds before can be altered temporaily or permanently in a way we never imagined. "HERE TODAY GONE TODAY"
Imagine sending your children off to school and finding out later you will not see your child anymore (in this system) because of a tornado, or any other loved one for that matter. These horrible unforseen situations bring lots of scriptures to mind, but James 4:13-15 stood out to me today.
Come, now you who say: "Today or tomorrow we will journey to this city and will spend a year there, and we will engage in business and make profits, 14) whereas you do not know what your life will be tomorrow. For you are A MIST appearing for a little while and then disappearing. 15) INSTEAD, YOU OUGHT TO SAY "IF JEHOVAH WILLS, we shall live and also do this or that."
I don't even know any of these people affected by any of this weather, but I tell you my heart is really sad, very sad.
And yet another tradgedy as a bus full of young college students off to play an innocent game of baseball ends up with more loss of life due to a horrible accident. Very sad for the parents and families for losing their children.
How thankful we are that we place our trust in our heavenly father, and regardless of unforseen circumstances or what will take place in the future, We know if we HOLD ON TO JEHOVAH AS TIGHT AS WE CAN AND DO NOT NEVER LEAVE HIM, WE WILL HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE BEYOND WHAT WE COULD EVER IMAGINE IN THIS DYING OLD SYSTEM.
I hope we all continue to hold on tight and pray pray pray OKEY DOKEY.
Love out to you all.

Good Morning E&E-
As I live in Alabama, I share your grief over the deaths of these poor students and the others in the surrounding area who have died. Their families are in my prayers as well.
A recent visit to the hospital has been an eye openner for me, if I could share.
I went in for a procedure. It was low-risk and no big worry, but it was necessary to be put to sleep. The anesthesiologist gave me an intravenous "cocktail" and one second I was awake, the next I was asleep, and then the next second I was awake again. Actually I was asleep for a couple hours but it seemed like only a second. Everything went well but the part that impressed me was that that was how it would be to die and be resurrected. Gone only for a second and back again. It has renewed my appreciation for Jehovah in that there was no pain or suffering, which is so loving on His part. No reason to fear dying. A good thing to realise as the end draws near.

Hi my dear sisters,
We are all in agreement that "death is a enemy ". but then on the other hand, we who know and believe in Gods word , can rightly say "OH death where is your sting" as we don't mourn as the nations do as we have the hope of a ressurection.
Molly i thought of your same experience many times. When one is put under, we have no idea as to what we will wake up to. This old systeme or possible the NEW>
May sound morbid to some, as no one looks forward to dying,
but we have the beautiful hope that others dont have and thats when your dead your dead ( not in a place of darkess, not in a firey pit, and not good enough for haven. We are asleep just waiting for Jesus call, to ""come out.""
Lazareth did not remember being dead, when Jesus called out to him, Jesus referred to him as being asleep, And indeed he was.
Its really the living that are left behind that feel the blunt of a loved ones death
.Something that some never can get over.
We are promised ,in the near future "There will be no more tears as the formor things (death ) has passed away.""
I know when one sees these unforseen occurances take place and the anguish on the faces that lost a love one,
one that has the truth, thinks to them self how we wish they would know that they could see their loved one again. You want to comfort them but they are not in reach. So sad !

hi everyone,
this may sound a bit morbid but i spend some time visiting graveyards.
the life stories that the stones tell is heartbreaking.
Graves around the late 1700s to the late 1800s tell of young children, infants dying followed within a year or two by their older sister or brother. a few years later the father or mother dies at the age of 28.
noticably the older stones are nearlly always inscribed with a scripture
like psalm 37 v 37
" mark the perfect man and behold the upright for the end of that man is peace"
the 1900s tell of young men killed at war 18 years of age killed in the battle of the Somme. The tall white regimental stones telling of the bravery must have been no comfort for the grieving parents.
The more recent stones sometimes have a picture of the person, childrens graves have toys placed at the head stones with poems or rhyms that the child liked.
one that a little girl used to say is
"God loves all of the people all of the time and all of the people love all of the animals and all of the animals love all of the people"
I see relatives meticullously attending graves murmmuring to their loved ones asleep in death.
death is indeed a tradgedy to the human race, i think it to be something that is humanly impossible to get over, people only manage to mask the reality to enable them to cope with life without their loved ones.
even Christ wept when he seen the sisters of lazarus weeping, he was moved,
but as he said to Martha
" i am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me even though he dies will live, and he who believes in me and lives will never die. do you believe this?"
we all here can say YES LORD WE DO.
just my thoughts

Molly and Stayawake,
It truly is loving of our father to remember us in the resurrection, if we should lose loved ones or our own lives. This is a wonderful provision and I am so very thankful as I know we all are.
No Elihu I do not think what you said is morbid. When I used to live in another location, I used to take a short cut through the grave yard, I found the headstones very interesting and the things people used to leave there. The cemetary was not off in a secluded area, it was right out in a very public area.
Love to you all

Good Evening Elihu-
When our family lived in Yorktown, Virginia we rented a house across the street from an old church and a really old graveyard. My kids and I used to enjoy wandering around reading the names and dates on the sites. There was an older gravesite in old Yorktown which was even more interesting. I think you can learn a lot from visiting graveyards.
We got a really good rent on the house because the owner said that noone wanted to rent across the street from a graveyard (Baptist area). Sometimes it pays to know the truth!!!
