Hi everyone

It is snowing here, and I decided to be cautious and sit this weeks meeting out at home. So I wanted to share what I got out of the Bible reading this week, I hope you do not mind OKEY DOKEY.

The Bible reading for TMS this week of Jeremiah 1-4 gave me gooseburmps, but also comforted me greatly.

Can you imagine Jeremiah delivering a message of Judgment to Jehovah's people today, and especially to those in a position of leadership. WOW!!

At any rate I wanted to share how these first four chapters encouraged my faith not only for now, but for the coming days (future).

Jeremiah 1:8, 17-19

If Jehovah decides to use us, he will most definitely back us up. However, I must have faith and trust him completely. I pray that I will always be able to do this (Critical times hard to deal with - we know are really coming)

Jeremiah 2:13 and 17 had a powerful effect on me it said:

Because there are two bad things that my people have done:

Verse 13)

They have left even me, the source of living water, in order to hew(chisel, chop, dig) out for themselves cisterns, BROKEN cisterns, that CANNOT contain the water. Sounds to me like the Israelites wanted to direct their own steps and so they did. Placing their trust in these broken and powerless things they turned to, such as idolatry, false gods/baal worship instead of turning to Jehovah who had done everything for them.

Wow I thought, leaving Jehovah, our living water source. We know what happens if we do not get water, we can only survive for so long nd then we die. Can you imagine drying up spiritually. Oh my, I do not ever want to dry up not having Jehovah's Holy Spirit.

Verse 17)

Is not this what you proceeded to do to yourself by your leaving Jehovah your God during the time of [his] walking you in the way? To me this meant, they were reaping the results of turning away from Jehovah. (the fact that they were now going to experience Jehovah's disapproval and discipline - Judgment)

Nothing good can ever happen to us if we get caught up in this system of things and what it has to offer as a replacement for Jehovah. None of the gods of this sytem can protect us. Whether it is the god of wealth, prestige, power, none of these things can save us or give us everlasting life or a loving relationship with Jehovah.

Better to drink the refreshing water of Jehovah since he is the source of living water.

Chapter 3 and verse 10 stood out to me also. It says:

and even for all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to me with ALL HER HEART, only falsely; is the utterance of Jehovah.

Hmmm sort of reminded me of what was discussed in yesterdays's text regarding being a hypocrite. So it seems Judah was HALF STEPPING, and did not return to Jehovah wholeheartedly. Oh Boy may we never do things just for the sake of appearance. That is not good.

In chapter 4 verses 1 & 2 really touched my heart and showed me how loving Jehovah is. He pleads with Israel saying:

Verse 4:1

"If you would return, O Israel," is the utterance of Jehovah, "you may return even to me. And if you will take away your disgusting things on my account, then you WILL NOT GO AS A FUGITIVE.

Verse 2

And [if] you will certainly swear, As Jehovah is alive in truth, in justice and in righteousness! then in him the nations will actually bless themselves, and in him they will boast about themselves.

Nope cannot do, they more or less said to Jehovah. We like things the way they are thank you very much. How so very sad. We know the end result of their hard heads and hearts. (NEBUCHADNEZZAR).

I enjoyed and learned a great deal from these four chapters. I just wanted to share what I learned. I'm not a heavy, just a little pea brain as you can see.

Love out to you all. HOLD ON TIGHT OKEY DOKEY

Tank you E&E for your comments I did appricate them.

I was thinking of Jer.1:4-8 ( according to 1898 Youngs Litteral Translation )
Jer 1:4 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
Jer 1:5 `Before I form thee in the belly, I have known thee; and before thou comest forth from the womb I have separated thee, a prophet to nations I have made thee.'
Jer 1:6 And I say, `Ah, Lord Jehovah! lo, I have not known--to speak, for I am a youth.'
Jer 1:7 And Jehovah saith unto me, `Do not say, I am a youth, for to all to whom I send thee thou goest, and all that I command thee thou speakest.
Jer 1:8 Be not afraid of their faces, for with thee am I to deliver thee, --an affirmation of Jehovah.'

Jehova has the power to use us as his tools for his work, we just have to listen and follow his commands, then we have nothing to fear..

HI WHOOWH :ban_dance01:

That's what touched made me so deeply after reading Jer. 1:7. We all have had feelings of not measuring up at times, or not being good enough. But when Jehovah blesses us personally with an assignment our lack of self confidence and feelings of unworthiness, should not stand in the way of doing what Jehovah has asked us to do.

He will give us whatever it is we need. He is the Most HIgh God, he wil not send us on a mission without the proper suit of armour and all the other spiritual equipment to bring honor and glory to his name.

This was a very encouraging reading assignment. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sounds like you did also. Have a great weekend Whoowh OKEY DOKEY

Big hugs
