Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Have you ever wondered how many verses in the Hebrew Scriptures give testimony about Jesus? Here are some that I found:
Genesis 3:15 – And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel.
Genesis 22:18 – And by means of your seed all nations of the earth will certainly bless themselves due to the fact that you have listened to my voice.
Genesis 49:10 – The scepter will not turn aside from Judah, neither the commander's staff from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and to him the obedience of the peoples will belong.
Numbers 21:9 – Moses at once made a serpent of copper and placed it upon the signal pole; and it did occur that if a serpent had bitten a man and he gazed at the copper serpent, he then kept alive.
Deuteronomy 18:15 – A prophet from your own midst, from your brothers, like me, is what Jehovah your God will raise up for you – to him you people should listen.
Deuteronomy 18:18 – A prophet I shall raise up for them from the midst of their brothers, like you; and I shall indeed put my words in his mouth, and he will certainly speak to them all that I shall command him.
Psalms 2:2 – The kings of the earth take their stand, and high officials themselves have massed together as one against Jehovah and against his anointed one.
Psalms 16:10 – For you will not leave my soul in Sheol. You will not allow your loyal one to see the pit.
Psalms 27:12 – Do not give me over to the soul of my adversaries; For against me false witnesses have risen up, and he who launches forth violence.
Psalms 69:9 – For sheer zeal for you house has eaten me up, and the very reproaches of those reproaching you have fallen upon me.
Psalms 78:2 – In a proverbial saying I will open my mouth; I will cause riddles of long ago to bubble forth.
Psalms 118:22 – The stone that the builders rejected has become the head of the corner.
Psalms 132:11 – Jehovah has sworn to David, truly he will not draw back from it: 'Of the fruitage of your belly I shall set on your throne.'
Isaiah 7:14 – Therefore Jehovah himself will give you men a sign: Look! The maiden herself will actually become pregnant, and she is giving birth to a son, and she will certainly call his name Emmanuel.
Isaiah 9:6 – For there has been a child born to us, there has been a son given to us; and the princely rule will come to be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 53:11 – Because of the trouble his soul will see, he will be satisfied. By means of his knowledge the righteous one, my servant, will bring a righteous standing to many people; and their errors he himself will bear.
Jeremiah 23:5 – 'Look! There are days coming,' is the utterance of Jehovah, 'and I will raise up to David a righteous sprout. And a king will certainly reign and act with discretion and execute justice and righteousness in the land.'
Jeremiah 33:15 –' In those days and at that time I shall make sprout from David a righteous sprout, and he will certainly execute justice and righteousness in the land.'
Ezekiel 34:23 – 'And I will raise up over them one shepherd, and he must feed them, even my servant David. He himself will feed them, and he himself will become their shepherd.'
Daniel 9:24 – 'There are seventy weeks that have been determined upon your people and upon your holy city, in order to terminate transgression, and to finish off sin, and to make atonement for error, and to bring in righteousness for times indefinite, and to imprint a seal upon vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.'
Micah 5:2 – 'And you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, the one too little to get to be among the thousands of Judah, from you there will come out to me the one who is to become ruler in Israel, whose origin is from early times, from the days of time indefinite.'
Malachi 3:1 – 'Look! I am sending my messenger, and he must clear up a way before me. And suddenly there will come to His temple the [true] Lord, whom you people are seeking, and the messenger of the covenant in whom you are delighting. Look! He will certainly come,' Jehovah of armies has said.
I'm sure I've missed some, so please feel free to add to the list. :)
