View Full Version : Challenging Wts Views
Hello DBoarders,
Been busy in the ministry, trying to assimilate nuggets glearned from you all here while in the car groups and door to door at same time watching what comes out of my mouth!
In my cong, the Sat morning service groups have started this game of trying to stump the other car groups with riddles or clues that are answered by something in the Bible. Had a great thought, but not being too clever, I am presenting this idea to the collective wonderful Brains here. Help me out here with some suggestions of how to do this and tie in some Real Truths about the Truth without giving myself away. After all nobody knows I even go here to this "apostate" site ! Couldn't this be a real neat opportunity to stimulate thinking from the Scriptures, while challenging traditional WTS views and teachings without seeming to and thereby not drawing attention to newly learned viewpoints that would rock (my) boat.
This kind of stuff is fun, stimulating and all ages get involved. Cell phones are ringing back and forth all morning trying to guess or stump the others.
Heres example of a riddle thats been around..
I am one of five, but am not alive.
The one who sent me became king and the one who received me died. What am I?
answer 1Sam 17: 40
Any suggestions with some real meat ? Thanks!

Yes, this could be fun, Clay, but be careful. Don't set yourself up OKEY DOKEY. Trying to incoprate some new truths COULD BACKFIRE. However, I will let the HEAVIES :185: as I lovingly refer to them give you their scriptural suggestions.
Enjoy your service to Jehovah.

A stone from the torrent valley. One of five David put into his pouch when he went out to meet Goliath.
As for something with some meat, why not simply pose the question to the car group that God presents at Isaiah 42:9? Should get some interesting comments from the messengers and servant of Jehovah. :icon_neutral: <span style="font-family:Verdana">"Who is blind, if not my servant, and who is deaf as my messenger whom I send? Who is blind as the one rewarded, or blind as the servant of Jehovah?"

Yes Clay, that's meat they can't chew, only thing is it would be a good idea to study the essay and plan ahead on the reactions you might be getting...because as you well know, the Witnesses know it all because the FDS says so!
Thank you for you thoughts. I really am trying to be careful, and not let on the growing differences between myself and the straight up JW's. ('which I were', not so long ago)
Great question, Watchman. I will try asking it, but the deal is I should have an answer for the question I present. Maybe I could raise it just for discussion. Wish I could hand out a print of your essay answering that, but afraid that would give me away...
Good advice Jeshurun, will indeed re-read. Let me know if you have any great ideas !
thanks, clay

Obviously Clay, it is going to be quite limited what you can do for the brothers at the moment.
Do you get to represent the congregation in prayer?
If so maybe you could put a few helpfull messages in there like,
"Heavenly Father Jehovah, we thank you for the spiritual guidance we recieve through your organisation here on Earth, and pray you will continue to direct it, please though, help us to remember that it is you, Jehovah whom we should worship and serve, and never the instrument of man you use."

Now Nambo, :D you know that the spiritual bodyguards would be right there to snatch him up to the GLOOM ROOM after he said:
"Please though, help us to remember that it is you, Jehovah we should worship and serve (AND NEVER THE INSTRUMENT OF MAN YOU USE)" He would get SPIRITUAL WHIP LASH as THEY SNATCHED HIM DOWN THE HALL TO BE QUESTIONED.
WEll, what are you saying brother are you saying that we are worshipping the FDS,
Are you saying that Jehovah does not know how to direct the arrangement he has put into place.
Just what are you saying brother? Huh Huh Huh
They either are standing or sitting in the back like body guards 5 or 6 of them. Never sitting with their families until the CO comes. They sit in a row, or they are positioned in several areas standing. So you know if they are doing this, you can surely believe they are LISTENING INTENTLY AT THE PRAYERS BEFORE THEY SAY AMEN. I can understand them being on the watch in case some lunatic or other problem tries to enter the KH from the rear, and I do appreciate their looking out for us, we have read/heard of cases in the news, etc. where problems have entered the KH with horrible end results. BUT NOW REALLY!!!
OKEY DOKEY, LOVE TO YOU NAMBO AND HOLD ON TIGHT EVERYONE.

When I read the stuff of this weeks book study of the revelation climax book I cannot else but wonder.
They argue that christendom was involved into ww1 and hated the loyal biblestudents for not so acting.
Have they forgotten that WTBS recommended to sign war bonds? !!!!!!
have they forgotten that the WT in WW1 told that they have sent the booklet " daily Manna" to those brethren in the war field?
Have they forgotten that they had made this war as a personal case of conscience? Some biblestudents rejected military services, others compromised by serving as sanitarian soldier and others took the gun but did not shoot the enemy, so one of them to me some 40 years ago.
Also their lovely letter to the Fuhrer, Mr Hitler, was a kind of creeping into his narrow mind. I would recommend to research google by the word "Hitler-letter" if somebody wants to know what took place - or the declaration of the Switzerland branch officer who agreed that JWs in Suisse stand to the arms.
That was rejected and excused by knorr in the late 40ies when the war was over and the society had not to fear, to loose the property which could have been confsicated by the Suisse government.
Wash me, but dont make me wet. that is their ideal.
But who washes, gets wet and who has two opinions will fall.
