Seven Festivals of Messiah

There are seven festivals that were important to Jews who lived under the Mosaic Law Covenant. These festivals were important because they pointed the way to the Messiah. Let's take a look at each one and see how they impact us as Christians:
1. Passover (Pesach)
Nisan/Aviv 14
Scriptures - Exodus 12:1-23; Leviticus 23:4-5; Deuteronomy 16:1-3
Historical aspect – Israel's deliverance out of Egyptian bondage
Messianic Fulfillment – Death of Yeshua on a tree
Death of Messiah
2. Feast of Unleavened Bread (Hag Ha Matzah)
Nisan/Aviv 15-21
Scriptures - Exodus 12:13, 23:15; Leviticus 23:6-8; Deuteronomy 16:31
Historical aspect – The going out of Egypt
Messianic Fulfillment – Burial of Yeshua
Burial of Messiah
3. First Fruits of Barley Harvest (Bikkurim)
The day after the sabbath during Feast of Unleavened Bread
Scriptures - Leviticus 23:10-14
Historical aspect – Crossing the Red Sea
Messianic Fulfillment – Resurrection of Yeshua
Resurrection of Messiah
4. Pentecost/Feast of Weeks (Shavuot)
Fifty days from the Feast of First Fruits
Scriptures - Exodus 23:16; Leviticus 23:15-21; Deuteronomy 16:9-12
Historical aspect – Giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai
Messianic Fulfillment – Outpouring of promised Holy Spirit
Outpouring of Holy Spirit
5. Feast of Trumpets (Rosh HaShanah-Yom Teruah)
Tishrei 1 (Starts Days of Awe)
Scriptures - Leviticus 23:24-25
Historical aspect – Blowing of the shofar – Jewish New Year
Messianic Fulfillment – The resurrection of the dead/rapture of believers
First Resurrection/Rapture
6. Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)
Tishrei 10 (Ends Days of Awe)
Scriptures - Leviticus 23:27-32
Historical aspect – Priest entered the Holy of Holies/Cleansing of people's sins
Messianic Fulfillment – The possible* day of Messiah's second coming
Messiah's Second Coming
7. Feast of Tabernacles/Booths (Sukkot)
Tishrei 15-21
a. (Shemini Atzeret) Eighth assembly/conclusion – Tishrei 22
b. (Simchat Torah) Rejoicing in the Torah – Tishrei 23
Scriptures - Exodus 23:16, Leviticus 23:34-43
Historical Aspect – Entering the promised land/Great rejoicing
Messianic Fulfillment – The Messianic era/Millenium
Messianic Era/Millenium
As we can see, four of these festivals were fulfilled during the first coming of Messiah, and the last three will be fulfilled during his second coming.
