Here's my comment for paragraph 12.

Now King David was on the run and it's true, from God's anointed King Saul.

Now did King David stay in the land of Israel all this time, or amongst his people?

No he ended up sheltering in among the Philistines, his enemy.

How ironic that must have been for him to find protection in the land of the Israelites enemies.
Running and hiding from the very one that should have protected him instead of hunting him down like an animal.

Did he keep his integrity to Jehovah at this time?

Yes he did but it was not among his people that he did this, during this time period.

Most of the time he spent in the wilderness and the mountains.

Are they indeed admitting in this paragraph for the first time that there is injustice among God's people (Jehovah's Witnesses)?

Shock, Horror.

But after that there is the old phrase that we should not be bitter against God or take it out on God so to speak.

But then was this the case with King David when he had to make a run for it from Saul and his own people and live basically out in the wilderness?

You might as well say that David was bitter with God because he got out of there to save his own life.

Just my comment for the day.

Did anyone who read the WT study for today notice the many times they used the word OBEDIENCE.

Paragraph 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 14 and 19.

Paragraph 10 which no one in our KH wanted to touch. An elder finally commented on it. It had to do with those other sex acts hmmmm. No one raised their hand except the elder who did the reading.

Did you notice paragraph 14, where it says "He is blessing his people now more than ever. Pure worship has never in all of history been so exalted on earth. When adjustments are made in explanation of Bible texts or in how things are done, we wnt to accept them. We are DELIGHTED to see evidence that the SPIRITUAL LIGHT IS STILL INCREASING. (Prov 4:18) If we find it hard to understand a change, we ask Jehovah to help us comprehend the point. Meanwhile, we endure in an OBEDIENT course, keeping our integrity."

Well no one at all raised their hands, to answer question 14. Finally an elder (newly appointed) raised his hand and he was so excited and emotional I thought he was going to break out in tears. He went on about how we are told about these wonderful changes, and how great it is to be obedient and if we ask Jehovah, He will help us understand this new light. I mean he was very very excited and I thought OH MY STARS, WHAT IN THE WORLD!!!

I got up and went to the rest room, for the SECOND TIME during this article. That was too much for me to chew on.

Wouldn't it be a wonderful change if the articles used the word LOVE instead of OBEDIENCE. Hmmmmm just my little thought.

I actually commented today for the first time in about 4-6 months. I commented on paragraph 16 regarding how Jehovah feels about worship being offered up to him when anyone tries to live a double life, or hide their nasty little sins. HMMMMMMM. I wonder if they knew what I was really referring to / talking about.

As always hardly anyone participated.

I do appreciate though the reminder of integrity and being loyal to Jehovah. That was a good reminder. It is just that you have to pick out all those yucky lima beans and peas before you can get to the Peach Cobbler.

With love to all

Watchtower's statement in paragraph 13: "Of course, we are blessed to live at a time when Jehovah's people as a whole can never be corrupted."

My comment: Oh, the arrogance!

Watchtower's statement in paragraph 13: "Of course, we are blessed to live at a time when Jehovah's people as a whole can never be corrupted."

My comment: Oh, the arrogance![/b]

This point also got me wondering.
What does it mean "as a whole"?
When we look at the example of God's people the Israelites what happened to them?
To some extent the whole nation became corrupted especially those taking the lead. finally they were rejected as Jesus plainly showed them.
However, here were a few who did not go along with the leadership including those of God's prophets that were sent to correct the leaders.
In most cases. what happened. They were rejected and often mistreated.
So how about today?

If any in Jehovah's organization are going to be corrupted wouldn't it be with those who are taking the lead? The self appointed GB has been "leading" us for decades..but where are they taking us? Is it where Jehovah wants us to go? When their faults are pointed out retribution often is directed against the one highlighting the problems. Sounds familiar?
(Referring to the thread ..Letter from an Elder)
The ones who see the problems and want to do something about it are considered themselves a problem that needs to be dealt with.

If we consider the example of God's people, the Israelites, as a pattern for our day, is it not surprising that it is the leadership that has becomes corrupted and that is seen in the way that treat those under their jurisdiction.

So who should be watching out? Is it not those who are putting out the information?
Certainly Jehovah knows who are serving him faithfully and he WILL bring retribution to those who have mislead and wronged those under there care.

What to do in the meantime? I still don't know. Keeping quiet helps me feel I can help those in my congregation who need to be informed and "wised-up". Expressing what I feel and becoming the target of a witch hunt is not something I want to bring on myself right now.

But maybe it will have to come to that in the future. I leave it up to Jehovah how he wants to use me. ( Is that too arrogant?)

Just my thoughts

Hi FGM,

You said: <span style="color:#0000ff">"What does it mean &#39;as a whole&#39;?"
</span>
Actually, I just commented on this very point on the thread "A Letter From an Elder." Then I saw your post here.

Let me read your comments above and I&#39;ll get back to this thread.
