what makes us possess faith?

to have faith we must posess knowledge and believe in what that knowledge tells us, otherwise what is it that we put our faith in.
for example when Christ spoke to Martha on the outskirts of Bethany about the death of lazarus the conversation went

"your brother will rise"
"yes lord i know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day"
" i am the resurrection and the life, anyone who believes in me and dies will come to life, and everyone that is living and excercises faith in me will never die at all, do you believe this?"
"yes lord i believe that you are the Christ the Son of God, the one coming into the world"


knowledge and belief equals faith
what makes us as individuals search for more knowledge and strengthen belief is also faith.

Elihu[/b]Thanks so much for the info. I find it interesting that, when Christ went to the home of Lazarus, Mary was at Jesus&#39; feet, Martha in the kitchen. At Lazarus&#39; tomb, Martha showed strong faith. What an excellent family!
