The abuse was finally discovered after another Jehovah&#39;s Witness secretly confronted the wheelchair-bound Victim A about marks to her head caused when Spry rubbed sandpaper over her face.[/b]

At least someone had the nerve to confront it and it looks like it was hidden from everyone. I can&#39;t see how she could hide it, especially if (as quoted) she was a devout JW. It really disturbs that this type of abuse occurs not only in our faith but in every other ones as well.

I was talking to a co-worker just the other day. His wife runs a small daycare and they had noticed a while back a child had cigarette burns on her body. So they inform DHS (Dept of Human Services). So they thought something was being done since they contacted whom they thought were the right people. So a few weeks go by and the little girl keeps showing up with cigarette burns. So they inform the DHS again. DHS said they were looking into it. So more time goes by and the same thing is still happening. They had informed the DHS about 7 times. The DHS kept saying they were looking into it or they put the mother through parenting classes. This woman has a total of 5 kids all from different fathers and she is real deep into the welfare system. So I guess recently they noticed it again, so I told my friend not to contact DHS but to contact the newspaper and the police. The newspaper because of the ineptitude of the DHS and the police to get this mother in jail. I don&#39;t know if he did this or not.

We also talked about how this could happen and how could our gov&#39;t, local/state and national, could stem this abuse. I brought up that what we need is to put a big scarlet &#39;A&#39; on these types of people. We do it to pedophiles why not child abusers as well. It would wake people up. Especially if they had to tell the police where they lived.

This world is just plain nuts.

These stories are just heart breaking no matter where they come from. Unfortunately they are really not very surprising considering the world in which we live. People are people no matter what institution or organization they are a part of. These are human errors that have existed from the beginning of sin. Before my parents became JWs there was a Catholic priest in their church who had been relocated because of sexual misconduct before 1975. And the stories my dad told me about the nuns in the orphanage where he grew up were always very disturbing. Stories that seemed to be lightly colored with a spanish inquistion like hue.
All conscious beings can become subject to their desires if they become a fixation. Imagine all Satan knew and had seen, or how long he may have lived before he let his desire get the better of him. Still have trouble wrapping my mind around that one.
