Hi All,

I have no particular reason for posting this other than I was reading it and it was a helpful reminder of how important it is for me to make sure I am really looking to Jehovah and his Son for my feeding especially during these times.

It is also a helpful reminder to me to make sure what I hold on to as truths regarding Jehovah's purpose/Sovereignty and all other issues included in that purpose is what I am teaching others according to Jehovah's Word.

HOLD ON TIGHT EVERYONE, IT AIN'T EASY BUT WE GOTTA KEEP HOLD N ON
TO JEHOVAH AND HIS SON. The times ahead will be as Jehovah said so intense unless the days were cut short............................

Now is our time to get as close to Jehovah as we possibly can, and make absolutely sure we are totally trusting in Jehovah and looking to him for our salvation, and following the footsteps of his Son whom provided us the means to even have a relationship with Jehovah. Our Lives depend on whom we choose to worship/serve/follow. (IMO)

************************************************** *************
(Galatians 1:1-12) Paul, an apostle, neither from men nor through a man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him up from the dead, 2*and all the brothers with me, to the congregations of Ga·la′ti·a: 3*May YOU have undeserved kindness and peace from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ. 4*He gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from the present wicked system of things according to the will of our God and Father, 5*to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. 6*I marvel that YOU are being so quickly removed from the One who called YOU with Christ’s undeserved kindness over to another sort of good news. 7*But it is not another; only there are certain ones who are causing YOU trouble and wanting to pervert the good news about the Christ. 8*However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to YOU as good news something beyond what we declared to YOU as good news, let him be accursed. 9*As we have said above, I also now say again, Whoever it is that is declaring to YOU as good news something beyond what YOU accepted, let him be accursed. 10*Is it, in fact, men I am now trying to persuade or God? Or am I seeking to please men? If I were yet pleasing men, I would not be Christ’s slave. 11*For I put YOU on notice, brothers, that the good news which was declared by me as good news is not something human; 12*for neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught [it], except through revelation by Jesus Christ.

With Love,

Dear E & E,

I love this translation here in the contextual bible which is so clear

Opening Words: Paul's Apostleship is From God

1 This letter is from Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, appointed directly by Jehovah God the Father who raised Christ from the dead, and not by any human or by any body of men; 2 and from all the other brothers with me. To the congregations in Pisidian Antioch, Iconium, Lystra, Derbe and other cities in the province of Galatia. 3 May Jehovah God our Father always keep you under the constant shower of his free, healing and unconditional forgiveness, infusing you always with the power to live according to his will, making you grow in holiness, keeping you standing in an approved condition before him at all times, because of our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 Yes, it is because of Jesus Christ having sacrificed his own life for our sins, just as God our Father purposed, that we remain continually in a guiltless condition before him in spite of our sinful nature; thus we are freed from the control of Satan, who derived his power over us from our guilt, which kept us imprisoned in his framework of religious, social, legal and commercial systems; 5 all this took place so that God can be praised and worshiped forever and ever. Amen.

The Only Good News

6 I am shocked that you are turning away so suddenly from God, who, because of his undeserved mercy, invited you to share everything with Christ; you are already following a different "good news," a watered-down message of salvation, which really isn't good news at all. 7 For there is only one Good News, and no other way of being guiltless, righteous and holy before God exists, other than the one we told you about, that of faith in Jesus Christ alone; you are being led astray by those who pervert the truth concerning Christ, those who try to adulterate the good news of free forgiveness by faith alone, with the teaching that we must earn our righteousness; those who say that while dependence on Christ and his sacrifice is important, we must also conscientiously keep some of the requirements of God's Law in order to have a perfect standing with him.

8 Let God's curse fall on anyone, including myself, who dares to preach such a thing, or, indeed, any other way to be approved by God than the one we told you about; yes, even if an angel comes down from heaven and preaches any other way to be guiltless and acceptable to God, let him forever be cut off from God. 9 I will say it again: if anyone preaches any other "good news" than the message you originally accepted, that faith in Christ Jesus and his sacrifice alone makes one guiltless, righteous and holy in God's sight, then let God's curse fall upon him.

Paul's Apostleship is Not From the Twelve

10 Do I sound to you like someone who is wishy-washy, someone who isn't clear about what he believes, who suits his preaching to the whims and desires of his audience, as some claim I do; that to Jews I preach obedience to God's Law and circumcision, and to non-Jews I preach faith and free forgiveness; or instead, do I sound like someone that is trying to please God? Or am I trying to seek human approval? If I were adulterating the truth of God for the sake of conciliating men and winning their favor, I could never be a slave of Christ. 11 Mark my words, brothers, that the message of free forgiveness that I preach has not come to me from any human source; 12 I was not taught it or commissioned to preach it by the Apostles in Jerusalem, nor indeed any man. For the Good News that I preach was revealed to me by Jesus Christ himself, who commissioned me to proclaim it. I did not receive it from any human.

HI THERE ILTB :ban_dance01:  ,

I really had a good time reading those scriptures from that Bible. I tried to find more info regarding the Contextual Bible, but it seems there is not much. From what I could find they only have available at this time, Galatians, Genesis and Jonah, which I added to my favorites.

Do you have any more info on that Bible? I really enjoyed it.

Gonna print those scriptures out you posted. Absolutely easy to read and understand. RIGHT TO THE POINT. MY BRAIN PROCESSED the words easily and said to tell you thank you very much for your help. :185:

Thanks so much ITLB. I've enjoyed your posts and use of scriptures.

OKEY DOKEY, I WILL JUST HAVE TO BE PATIENT AND DO THE SAME THING. :icon_razz: WELL AT LEAST IT IS IN MY FAVORITES NOW. I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH.

THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING. I have several different translations with commentaries but I am careful with those commentaries because they get kinda way off at times. But they still bring out points that help me understand so much.

So I am careful what I eat with any translation, just as I am now careful of what I eat from the food we are served from the org. Just STAY N ON THE WATCH AS JEHOVAH TOLD ME and TRYING TO MAKE SURE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. ;)

Later ILTB and thanks again for sharing.

Doesn't it seem to be adding a lot? In a way it's nice, because you think, oh, THAT's what it was referring to...but do we really want other humans to be defining that, rather than God's spirit guiding our own study and understanding?

It's kind of like how when you read a WT article, and look up the scriptures and they match and you move on. BUT, when you just READ the bible without any other influences, you get so much more, because Jehovah's spirit is free to guide you without a human's thought already being planted in your head.

I don't know, I'm just asking...I like reading it also, but it seems a little risky.

Hi IJA,

I noticed that also right away all the additional stuff. But then I just took what I liked and moved on. I do the same thing with the WTBTS publications and talks, especially now.

There is so much stuff floating around, if we are not careful of what we are taking in we will be certified spiritual loonies. (Just my little opinion) But I believe you are correct in saying it is risky. In my opinion it is dangerous for some to run across certain information, that tampers with Jehovah's word, if that is indeed what that are doing. ( Rev 22:18, 19) especially if it changes the total meaning of what Jehovah is saying to us.

Jehovah knows who is messing around with his Word and I do believe, he will deal with them when that times comes. But in the meantime we do have to be careful of what we take in from these sources.

Also some of these new modern Bibles, books, etc. (imo) perhaps want to mold the thinking of the reader a particular way , to get us to believe a certain way. I noticed this tone (again just my opinion) with the Contextual Bible, even though I understood what I felt they were trying to do.

I have, as I mentioned, several other Bibles with commentaries and I am quick to notice when they say Jesus is God, etc. The trinity and hellfire things of that nature. But the other info is very helpful.

I just thank Jehovah that he has helped me to grow into the person spiritually that I am now where I am able to weed out these things. Years ago I was not mature enough to do this and my relationship with Jehovah was almost non-existent. (Even though I was baptized in the early 70's)

I was a spiritual robot, just marching to the drum beat of the rules and regulations.

Now, praise Jah, he has shown me through much trial/error and self inflicting pain due to dumb choices that I made that he still loves me in spite of and to always STOP, REALLY LOOK AND REALLY LISTEN TO WHAT I AM TAKING IN BECAUSE I AM RESPONSIBLE AND WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

But more importantly to me than all that is I PERSONALLY WILL HAVE TO ANSWER TO JEHOVAH AND NO ONE ELSE FOR HOW I HANDLED MY LIFE SPIRITUALLY AND PERSONALLY.

NOW THAT REALLY MAKES ME WANT TO MAKE SURE, STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN. :185:

So presently in my growing relationship with Jehovah at this time, I just eat what is good for me. I am so thankful now that I spend more time with Jehovah, that I am able to know the difference BETWEEN WHAT IS GOOD FOOD AND WHAT IS BAD FOOD. . OKEY DOKEY IJA, I do ramble don't I.

Sisterly love to you and your family. So nice to talk with you. It is such a wonderful thing to be able to come on this site and express ourselves to others and share our spiritual understanding, feelings, thoughts and encourage each other. It really helps one to grow. (ROMANS 1:12) I thank Jehovah so much for this tool we have here. (Just my opinion)

Dear E&E,
The journey you desribe is a hard one isnt it ? From being a robot and then learning to think outside the 'rules'...as if rules give purpose. :icon_rolleyes: What do you think led to this new path for you ?

Do you think that you started to rebel against the 'rules' because they were restrictive and you could see how they were damaging people...or something else ?

You mention rebelling. I think of teenagers rebelling. They dont know what they are rebelling against, they just know what they are rebelling against isnt right. This happened with me. I rebelled even though i could put my finger on what it was that was moving me to do so. This shouldnt have to be something anyone has to do.

Later as i got older it became clear what i was rebelling against. Jah directed things for me to read information that was life changing. But its unfair that people rebel, make silly mistakes just to get to the truth.

But I like the saying:"when you know better, you do better"..which shows that all along the potential to accomplish good in our lives is always there if we know how to tap into it.

Thats why when people study the bible and get to know Jah wonderful things happen. They are learning 'better' and then applying it. BUT,that potential is always there. Thats so great to know !!

HI JD,

Yepper, The transition to think outside the box rather than allow others to do all the thinking and problem solving for me was traumatic. However, I would not change what I learned, but how I went about it. (MY ROBOTIC DAYS ARE OVER)

The turning point for me was after my mother passed away in 2004 at home and the hospice nurse and I had to dress my mom so her body could be removed from her home. She looked so very peaceful. I found her that way when I woke up to check on her. Anyways I was "okey donkey" until the undertaker came upstairs with a pop up table and a big black plastic zip up bag. The undertaker and his assistant had to lift my mom up from her bed with a sheet and plop her down on that table, they then zipped up the bag and I went into a quiet shock.

My whole life with my mom flashed through my head as they zipped that bag up after I said my last words to her telling her she did the best she could with the tools and understanding she had for a single mom, and telling her I turned out pretty good for a spoiled brat adult kid and she did alright.

Shortly after that I felt lost, totally lost. I was DA and had lots of time on my hands then to seriously review what my issues were not only in my personal life but also spiritually. I also realized that at 55 years old (at that time) I was closer to the dust than I was years ago. THAT HAD AN IMPACT ON ME. I HAD BEEN TOUCHED BY DEATH, I NOW UNDERSTOOD WHAT IT MEANT. I UNDERSTOOD WHAT A TEMPORARY RESIDENT ON THIS EARTH MEANS.

I UNDERSTOOD BORROWED TIME. MY MOM WAS GONE AND I WAS HURTING, A PAIN I CANNOT DESCRIBE TO ANYONE. IT IS AN ABSENCE OF THE PRESENCE OF THAT PERSON AND I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU THE EMPTINESS THAT IS FELT. TO ME IT IS BEYOND WORDS. DEATH IS REALLY THE ENEMY.

THANK YOU JEHOVAH FOR THE PROMISE OF THE RESURRECTION.
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, I WANTED TO REALLY GET TO KNOW JEHOVAH AND WHAT HE WANTED. I STARTED REVIEWING ALL I LEARNED AND IT WAS HARD.

I bought a computer, learned how to use it and found E-Watchman. I read all I could, I printed all I could (BY THE WAY I HAD A PRINTED LIST OF HIS ESSAYS AND COMMENTARIES AND I CANNOT FIND MY LIST OR THE COMPUTER LIST. ARE THEY ARCHIEVED SOMEWHERE? NOT THE CAROUSEL ON THE SITE, BUT A TOTAL LIST. HAVE ANY IDEA JD OR ANYONE ELSE WHO READS MY EXPRESSIONS HERE?

Anyways I'm not sure about being rebellious now or anything against restrictive laws, But I just wanted to know WHAT DOES JEHOVAH THINK, AND WHY, WHAT DOES HE REALLY WANT ME TO KNOW AND DO. STUFF LIKE THAT.

From this site I found out much more. This site helped me to open up (perhaps too much :) ) and it made me dig into the scriptures in a way I never did before.

I was finally on my way to renewing and strengthening my relationship with Jehovah. I fell down several times during my time here on the site for allowing myself to get confused and overwhelmed by all the new stuff I was taking in,
LEARNING AND APPLYING. I could not handle some things and it messed with me for awhile. I felt betrayed, and I got angry and a tad bitter (to say the least) I was flip flopping back in forth in my thoughts and was getting on my own nerves. I broke down temporarily. (as I say)

But Jehovah taught me to to Hold on through all of this and as time went on and I slowed down it got better. I prayed and prayed and prayed, as well as meeting a couple of strong folks here who helped me out and I thank Jehovah for them.

Now I am settling down more, able to pick and choose what I want to get involved in on the board, what I want to eat and not eat. It has been a diffcult journey as I say but I am so thankful that Jehovah has allowed me to continue to grow and to learn to think about myself the way Jehovah thinks about me, the same for others. I try to see them as Jehovah does until they give me reasons to view them differently their behavior, etc......

I am very protective of my spirituality now. I do not let anyone force me to do anything or manipulate my thoughts to make me do something that makes me feel uncomfortable spiritually. I try to make sure as much as possible and keep on the watch.

I am becoming stronger from reading Jehovah's word and I can pick up immediately inside and outside the org when someone is not what they want me to think they are. I prayed for godly discernment, wisdom in those areas and Jehovah has helped me.

So all these things led to this NEW PATH FOR ME JD. I thank Jehovah for it and all those he used to helped me along the way.

How bout you my brother :icon_razz: Same questions OKEY DONKEY ;) .

Sisterly love to you and your family JD
