Dvd About Constructing Kingdom Halls

Hi,

We have the visit of the circuit overseer this week. His talk for after the bookstudy was based on the DVD about the construction of kingdom halls in poor countries.
He gave an intro and than the DVD was shown and afterwards there were some concluding comments. This DVD should be shown in all congregations during the visit of the CO from march till september.
It was really interesting and fascinating to see how brothers/sisters are working together to build new kingdom halls.
They even showed how our brothers/sisters in an African country are making there own stones from soil to use for the kingdom hall.
Really interesting.
Anyone else saw this?

i don`t attend the hall very often. it sounds very interesting. the last film i saw was about the persecution in Russia that was a good one.

its great to hear that people of scant resource are so industrious and committed and all in the name of the true god and his son.

unfortunately i get very frustrated when the efforts and sufferance of these very commited people is used to indicate the truth of the whole deal. the film i saw about the Russian persecution was very moving and those whose stories were told where sincere and tested through trials. yet straight after we went into a bookstudy which was a complete distortion of the meanings of an ancient prophetic biblical writting.

the watchtower magazine editions often do the same thing. they present a true suffering or adventure concerning the preaching or meetings, these stories are heartfelt. Then in the next chapter theres a load of guff about 1914 or some other pompus tripe and it is as if dogey interpretations are being sold of the back of real sincerity.

one of the worst wtbts films that i saw was a narrated documentary about the organisation and especially the facillity of Brooklyn Bethel.

Anyway the quickbuilds in the USA would also be done with bricks made out of local mud but you just can`t get the same high quality mud that you get in Africa. :peepwall:

Yes we saw this film here in the US about KH construction during the CO visit about 1 1/2 years ago.
