After all the that rhetoric we finally get to the truth of it all in the final paragraphs. par 18)making disciple involves at least a three-way partnership. Jehovah does ht most important part, drawing the individual to him (John 6:44) We and others in the congo do our best to the art of teaching, then it is the persons choice.
they forgot to mention the holy spirit.
sorry but I found the study boring, no different to the KM.

The reason that you find it boring is because the information is but "baby food" to you. Its so easy to comprehend that it is not challenging to your mind. It is but a magazine article, like any article in any magazine the depth that it can take you is only shallow.
I understand where you are coming from.

The Watchtower Society has become so hypocritical it turns my stomach. The article states that householders may be turned off or stumbled by religious hypocrisy. Yeah, I'd say that is true. And the hypocrisy of the leadership of the Watchtower is a contributing factor. The media attention given to child abuse within Jehovah's Witnesses is undoubtedly a factor. How true Hosea 10:1, "their heart has become hypocritical, now they will be found guilty."

Yes when I read about the hypocrisy of the Church's, I felt sad but angry at the same time. I think they believe they are beyond any guilt, they mock Jehovah, its awful.
We don't go out in the field to convince anyone, we just deliver the message from the bible, in a simple and humble way that brings no glory to ourselves, Jehovah and his spirit does the rest.

I have to agree also, and i really hate feeling like this, but the hypocracy and self righteousness makes me sick also. We knock on doors and bring them in, these people give up family and friends for a spiritual paradise, only to be told the truth about christendom while their own sins are well hidden and disguised. Then when it is all revealed, there worse than what they were before they knew the truth, because now their trust has been shattered beyond repair. Then their judged and called apostates, this is a sad reality, i pray Jehovah will reveal all soon as these really are testing times.
ISAIAH 59:14 AND JUSTICE WAS FORCED TO MOVE BACK, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS ITSELF KEPT STANDING SIMPLY FAR OFF. FOR TRUTH HAS STUMBLED EVEN IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE AND WHAT IS STRAIGHTFORWARD IS UNABLE TO ENTER.
15:AND THE TRUTH PROVES TO BE MISSING, AND ANYONE TURNING AWAY FROM BADNESS IS BEING DESPOILED.
AND JEHOVAH GOT TO SEE, AND IT WAS BAD IN HIS EYES THAT THERE WAS NO JUSTICE
16: AND WHEN HE SAW THAT THERE WAS NO MAN HE BEGAN TO SHOW HIMSELF ASTONISHED THAT THERE WAS NO ONE INTERPOSING.

You're welcome brother,
The hope in showing the articles here is gaining 'insight' into Jehovahs' word (a pearl of great value), yet oft too many times, all we are seeing is the arrogant, unrepentant mind-set of the Governing Body.
May Jehovah be with us all,
James
I like the point made in para 18." Success or failure depends primarily on one person - The cook." Is our friend of the same name going to comment?
But seriously I just cannot get over the tone of the articles in the "study" issues recently. It seems to me that the writers are given one purpose. "make them feel guilty". This article is no exception. Hints such as para 13 .... A growing number of publishers......." What growing number? Where are they? If you are not among such number, what are you doing? You are not doing enough.....( hint..do more)
Para 17 Jehovah chose the weak things of the world..(hint..if you are not blessed with a study of some sort maybe you are not chosen..maybe you have to do something about it.... do more..)
Para 21 Doing our best...Well what is our best? Is it to be decided by how many Bible studies we have?
What does all this do? Does it encourage? Does it bring joy?I don't think so. Encouragement comes through commendation not condemnation. When are they going to see that?
I am all for encouraging B/S to do what they can. However Jehovah will see to it that they are blessed because of their humble heart condition not from tallying the number of Bible studies or number of hours logged.

We all know that some type of witnessing is essential for global expantion, but using emotional blackmail, puts a burden on brothers and sisters shoulders. I remember an auxillary pioneer who was giving me a study, one day she decided to me i needed to have THREE studies a week to make progress, which i knew was rediculous. Then later she started to mention to the sister she was with how she needed to make up her hours, i couldnt believe my ears. I was left with mixed emotions.
1. Why set your self a challenge you know you cant reach
2. Jehovah deserves love thats free from pressure and not based on earning it.
3. Dont lie as to why a person needs more studies.
And no i decided i wasnt going to help in a situation like this, as it was deliberate and contrived.
This is what happens when competitiveness is encouraged, the purpose of serving Jehovah loses its meaning, it becomes a numbers game, and look at me, look what i have acheived, this just helps promote egotism.
