Hi, the talks they have planned look quite interesting. It may be worth going just to see what information they are going to give.
But there again can i be bothered having to get up at 5 in the morning to get ready and drive the hour and half to get there, just so we can get decent seats! And while i'm there be ignored because i have the apostate stigma attached to me and my family and listen to how we are living in a spiritual paradise!! :38786-6:
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! ! :D
Hmmmmmmmmmmm i may have to think about that one!!!

IT ALL SOUNDS SO GOOD AND MY HEART ACHES FOR ALL THAT WILL GO. THEY WILL BE TOLD THAT THEY ARE GOING TO WATCH BAB THE GREAT FALL WHILE THEY STAND AT A SAFE DISTANCE, THAT WILL BE THE START OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION. THEY WILL BELIEVE IT BECAUSE THE 'GOLDEN CALF' TELLS THEM SO. I ATTEND MEETINGS AT THE MOMENT BUT ONLY BECAUSE I LOVE MY B/S. I WOULD LOVE TO GO AND LISTEN TO WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY BUT I HONESTLY DON'T THINK I CAN. I SHALL SPEND THE 3 DAYS READING MY BIBLE AND LEARNING MORE ABOUT SUBMISSION TO CHRIST JESUS, THAT AND ONLY THAT WILL HELP US TO SEE THE START OF WORLD SHATTERING EVENTS AND TO REMAIN FAITHFUL. THANK YOU WATCHMAN FOR ALL YOUR ESSAYS, REALLY ENJOYING THEM. NOW HERE'S A THOUGHT... I WILL GO IF YOU DO ALL THE TALKS AT THE CONVENTION. ANY CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING????????????????????? LOL

There isn't anything different here, it appears to be the same food as the past twenty years or so. The only difference is the family night study.
Really it is desperate times, when they allow 15 minutes to be declared on report card by anyone so as not to become inactive. It's the numbers game, more reporting the more Jehovah is blessing the work (GB FDS arrangement)
The past few WT on how Jehovah and Christ trust the GB FDS, is showing tell tale signs of huge problems of dissent that could be happening within.

Friday At the District Assembly.
"Answers to Questions About the Last Days"
The first question had to do with "mistaken dates" and how we should feel about them. Unfortunately I never got the actual full question. But here was part of the answer and yes they brought up 1975.
Powerfully they said "1975 only proved that they were spiritually alert! Anyone who complains about this date is spiritually asleep and apathetic."

Hi Noname:
If the Society had accepted full responsibility for this error in predicting the end based on an erroneous understanding of God's Word back when it happened it would have been a finished matter. To pretend that we can understand God's Word without making mistakes in understanding and judgement is the real crime. God's Word is perfect, however, up to this point, our understanding of it is imperfect at best. We can try our best to interpret prophecy, but time and time again we will get it wrong (that does not make us a false prophet, it just means our interpretation of an already existing perfect prophecy is incorrect). I don't see that as a problem. Jesus exhorted his disciples to Keep Seeking, Keep Asking, Keep Knocking, not try a couple times and if you don't get it right, quite. What I see as the problem is the inability to admit ones mistakes and move on, always trying harder to understand without insisting that you can never make mistakes. The other glaring wrong is associated with what I have already said and that is blaming the Sheep for the mistakes of the Shepherd. The Pope claims infallibility, we should never take that stance, even if we are the "wide awake John Class", "who will never as a group go wrong".

Absolutely.
Nothing wrong with imperfect men making mistakes.
The problem comes when pride prevents confession of such mistakes and shifts the blame to others. This same pride causes a compounding of the error by becoming more and more dogmatic with predictions and grandiose claims to authority.
In a word: hubris (my favorite word, btw).

Beautifully said and to the point, U&T. I concur 100%.
They make mistakes - ok, that part's fine. But then they expected to be obeyed without question as though they are infallible. That's what drives me crazy! When they make a mistake, they pull out "imperfect men" etc, which is true. But the other 90% of the time we are supposed to TREAT them as though they are not imperfect.
It's totally contradictory. You can't have it both ways. You can't be imperfect and fallible, but then asked to be obeyed with blind faith as though you are not.

[/b]Yepper, IJA this is what hurts many of those who have left (including myself at one time) and are scattered about. But Jehovah knows their hearts and will seek them out and bring them back to him. Ezekiel 34 has been so very helpful to me. But it still bothers me also the contradictions, and especally that all to often used IMPERFECT MEN expression, and then we are to OBEY THEM EVEN IF WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND.
SORRY, NOT ME. PSALMS 146:3, I KNOW WHAT JEHOVAH TOLD ME ABOUT THAT EVEN IF I DON'T KNOW OR UNDERSTAND ANYTHING ELSE.

Hi Lil Panda Bear, :icon_razz:
I totally agree with your expressions below that I highlighted.
"The past few WT on how Jehovah and Christ trust the GB FDS, E & E: Once I started waking up, I begin to understand why the mixed messages in the WT and some other publications. That is when I arrived to my current feelings that in my opinion there may be a real disturbing problem within the Service and writing departments. But that is just my personal opinion, along with what I learned in 2 Thess chapter 2, etc. and other scriptures pertaining to the leadership (Jehovah's household, etc.)</span>
OK I HAVE TO GET OFF THE CONFOUNDED COMPUTER. CO HERE THIS WEEK. SO MUCH TO DO.
