The daily text for today:
Matthew 6:13: "And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one."
Is it Jehovah who brings us into temptation?
Consider James 1:13 - "When under trial, let no one say: "I am being tried by God." For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone."
So according to this text it cannot be Jehovah who brings us into temptation.
When it is not Jehovah it must be Satan who tries everything to succeed.
Compare 1 Thess 3:5 - "That is why, indeed, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to know of YOUR faithfulness, as perhaps in some way the Tempter might have tempted YOU, and our labor might have turned out to be in vain"
So when praying to not bring us into temptation we are asking Jehovah to help us resisting Satan.
We acknowledge that we cannot do this by ourselves, we need help from our loving God Jehovah.
