I was reading REV 21:4,5 . . .
The former things have passed away.” 5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” . . .
We have many theories about what the "New System" will be like. However, I never really gave much thought to the meaning of
"the former things" and making "ALL" things new.

I think that I have different viewpoint of this scripture than I did before.
ALL THINGS.. not just "some" things will be made new. That suddenly hit me a as a powerful statement. Can we imagine what all things might mean. We may have to have a complete change of concept as to what life will be like. Do we really have any idea? We only have the account of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden before their disobedience to go on. The picture of living naked eating fruit plucked from a tree forever doesn't cut it. What was Jehovah's plan for the human race? Can we grasp the idea of life so completely different to what we have now? To make all things new must involve a radical change so tremendous that it is difficult to imagine. For example, if we are to live in a world that is completely free of pollution then 99% of the production techniques that are used now must be changed. Producing even the most basic of products has some kind of polluting side effect. Even smoke from cooking fires is a source of pollution. If the world is filled with people cooking in such a manner does it not create a detrimental atmosphere? Is there a concept of food preparation that we cannot even comprehend? What about the New Scrolls that will be opened according to RE 20 : 11-15? Are these just instructions? Could these scrolls not be symbolic of change? An opening of a scroll could mean that there is a making of something new, different, something that changes life on this earth to a degree that we cannot even imagine.

I really wonder what is in store. Of course we must appreciate that we were created with a physical body which in itself has limitations, but how that physical body will be changed under the concept of "ALL" things to me is an interesting thought that I am still pondering.

Anyway I just wanted to share what I was thinking.
Maybe it's not so important but I felt that this scripture has more to it than I realized before.

Just my thoughts

I think about this all the time. One of my favorite pastimes is to let my mind wander, wondering about what things will be like in the new system.

Imagine what life will be like with Jesus in charge of all the details. WONDERFUL! No more corrupt governments raping the citizens and the resources of the planet.

Imagine what life will be like when we are using our brain to full capacity. If you thought the Industrial Revolution was impressive, imagine what it will be like when people smarter than Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein start inventing things. These guys will probably come up with some cool things, but so will a lot of other people. Genius won't be limited to a precious few people, and genius won't be limited in the way it has limitations now.

I recently looked into Leonardo DaVinci (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonardo_da_Vinci_-_scientist_and_inventor) and all the cool things he invented during his limited lifetime. Check out these links:

I think the inventions we have to look forward to will blow all previous inventions out of the water. It's hard to imagine what it will really be like because our thinking is so limited, but I have a few ideas of what things might be like, such as pollution free forms of transportation that are speedy and safe. Ways of lighting, heating, and cooling our homes that are pollution free and use technology already created by Jehovah, just waiting for us to discover it.

Once corporate polluters are gone, there probably wouldn't be much impact on the planet if we were to cook over an open fire. I like the Argentinian grills (http://www.parrillasargentina.com/parrilla/) myself. And I want a real pizza oven (http://www.fornobravo.com/) made out of rocks or brick.

I think the new system may be a curious mix of old-fashioned stuff and ultra modern things because of personal choice. The possibilities are endless.

It is fun to think about, and our thoughts can take us in all different directions. Some things I consider are, what would it mean for us to be totally satisfied in Jehovah and his good creation, to have no sinful dissatisfaction with things as we have had from the time of the first sin. Would there still be cooking? Artificial lighting? Plethora of inventions of human hands?

Certainly we can reasonably know that the earth was given for us to care for as we live on it, though this could mean something completely different to us in the new system. My thoughts do not go to a futuristic, awesome sci-fi type of world. We have had very asymmetric development of human civilization in this system, I feel, with so much meddling with the earth and physical things, so much focus on all that is physical and fleshly -- while remaining really utterly stunted spiritually, interpersonally and intellectually too. There is so much we have yet to learn and experience of what Jehovah himself has created, which we do not know now, it is hard for me to imagine how long it would be before people would even want to be going off and making up things out of their own minds. I actually can't imagine that. :)

We are most fully ourselves, the fullest expression of our individual existences, when we are in the position before Jehovah where he is all, and we simply and profoundly know it. It is not possible for him to hold us back in any way, and in the possibility of things that are not his will for us to do, we have the first human example that only in sin will we even desire such things. But what will it be to have perfect contentment? We cannot even imagine such peace, here, and how greatly and in what directions our minds and hearts will grow when they are no longer afflicted under the personal sins and afflictions of this system.
Love,
Shira

beautiful subject to talk about

Robert has written an essay entiled " imagining paradise"
i use it to help people that i work with when they wonder what life it all about.

as Robert says in his essay everything started in someones imagination, what a wonderful gift from God it is.
can you imagine life without imagination
i ve just realised what i wrote i could not do so if i had no imagination.

We may have to have a complete change of concept as to what life will be like. Do we really have any idea?

Its obvious.

there was no meeting halls or literature in eden. Thats a problem.

so in the new, we will all........ live in one hall ..........with the literature ..........

........and that will be that.
