I really liked paragraph 15 this week. Important not to get wrapped up in the details while missing the more important things.
Good study overall, until they inexplicably threw in yet another FDS reference in paragraph 18. This study would have been just fine (even better) without that.

Good morning. What a blessing is to be alive! A thoughtful study we have today.
Think about it. Spiritual maturity. This kind of maturity enables one to distinguish right from wrong. It enables the Christian to remain firm in spite of conflicting teachings, temptations and pressures. Spiritual maturity enables one to “stay awake, stand firm in the faith, carry on as men, grow mighty.”—1 Cor. 16:13; Heb. 5:14.
Among the very first essentials to gaining spiritual maturity is spiritual food, and that means studying the Bible and such aids as God has provided to enable us to understand it properly.
The great adversary, Satan the Devil, is making a concentrated attack on mankind and on true worshipers of God in particular. His goal is to turn all potential integrity keepers against God and bring them down to ruin along with him and his demon angels. We are assured, though, that if we endure in integrity, the Devil will flee from us. Like Jesus, we can ‘learn obedience’ to God through the things we suffer, and by His undeserved kindness, we can attain to everlasting life.—Hebrews 5:7, 8; James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8-10.
POSSESSING mature thinking and judgment is of great value to the person who seeks to do God’s will, enabling him to thwart the continual bombardment of temptations that are constantly striking him in this old order of things.
Exercising maturity will be a safeguard if we continue acquiring accurate knowledge, analyze it and compare it with what we already know, drawing proper conclusions from this analysis, storing it up in our memory and putting it all into practical use at the proper time.
Have a nice day.

The Bible is the only book "inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." (2Tim.3:16,17)

It is true that obedience should come from the heart as God's Law should be written on our hearts.
We should be spiritually circumcised in our hearts.
But it is "faith" in Christ's sacrifice and our "love for Jehovah that motivates us to be obedient to his commandments which is outline in God's word the Bible, and one of the most important commandment is to love our God with our whole heart and to love our neighbor, particularly the ones who are related to us as to the Christian faith.

Paragraph 14 bothered me
It gives and example of a brother who is sexually accosted by a female workmate and he recalls a wt article on how to deal with this situation - of which the example of Joseph and Potifers wife from the bible is mentioned - it amazes me how the wt wants to take credit for the biblical reference - when i have been in a similar situation i dont think - now wasnt there a wt article on this - no i think - how does Jehovah view immoral advances and situations -
maybe the b&s are not reading their bibles as there seems to be a lot of council to do personal bible reading - maybe the b&s just read the mags and go through the motions as the article also mentioned
the problem is when i do bible reading i come to different conclusions than the wto - so should i stop reading the bible?

Truth be told Billy2, the WT studies have been a tad nerve wracking for me since the 1980's. Most likely because I am now in my early 60's and have a very low tolerance for this type of studying: Read prepared material, ask a prepared question and give a prepared answer.
I do appreciate spiritual material, so I hope no one jumps on my statment and beats it into the ground.
We had a talk at my KH yesterday about being separate from the world, and of course they used the example of Joseph. It is either Joseph or Job, Job or Joseph. Come come now.
There has always been statements about reading the Bible Daily. I think at one time there was a sign and it still may be there I have no idea, on or around Bethel building in New York about READING THE BIBLE DAILY.
However, what that really means to me is we are supposed to read and allow the WTBTS to interpret. If we get any other conclusion or thoughts outside of what is acceptable from them , well ya better keep them to yourself and not share OR ELSE. So we do have to be alert and make sure because there are those who are demented and twisted and planted by Satan inside the org. who twist and mislead us by tampering and misusing God's Word.
But then there are those such as Watchman and many others who have made a stand and been kicked to the sidewak so to speak. Some right on this board as you may be aware.
I would not doubt many are just going through the motions of running through the material. We are not made in such a way (My opinion) to keep digesting the same things over and over and over and over and over and over, and our minds are expected to grow. Well my mind does not work that way. I am happy for any minds that do. Good for you.
Once we step back, as I say, and really are serious about wanting Jehovah's spirit to direct us, then it will, and it will help us understand enough of what Jehovah's purpose is to do what our heavenly father requires. Some things are just not open to us now because it is not Jehovah's time to reveal them, and I believe that totally.
I personally feel, at this time, more than ever before in my 30+ trouble years of being associated with this org, that WE BETTER BE READING OUR BIBLES AND GETTING AS CLOSE TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER AS WE CAN.
I am so thankful for all the expressions, thoughts, scriptures and knowing everyone on on this board. I have learned from everyone here. This board has been a big help in me knowing what Jehovah has allowed me to know. I am thankful Watchman had the courage to do what he feels Jehovah wants him to do.
But the bottom line is, (my opinion) it is our Bible reading/studying/understanding/discernment, and our personal relationship with our heavenly father (Faith, obedience to Jehovah's commands/principles) that is going to help us and and nothing else, no board, no watchtower study, no God's love book or any other book.
It will be our personal faith, PERIOD in JEHOVAH AND HOW WE RESPOND WHEN OUR BUTTS ARE UNDERGOING THE THINGS THAT WILL BE SO AWFUL THAT JEHOVAH HAS TO STEP IN BECAUSE OF HIS CHOSEN ONES.
NONE OF THE OTHERS THINGS I OR ANY ONE ELSE COMPLAIN/FEEL STRONGLY ABOUT, OR DISCUSS ABOUT RE: FDS, 1914, WT STUDY, JOSEPH, JOB OR ANYTHING ELSE WILL AMOUNT TO A HILL OF PORK N BEANS. WHAT will be important is how we respond under those critical times.
This is where I am in my thoughts at this time in my spiritual journey..... Jehovah's word, his holy spirit and prayers that we all WILL STAND FIRM WITH OUR COMPLETE SUIT OF ARMOR ON READY AS WE GET DEEPER AND DEEPER INTO THE POOKEY (E & E WORD) OF THESE CRITICAL LAST DAYS.
WILL IT BE EASY NOPE, IT AIN'T EASY SO WE BETTER KNOW WHAT THE HECK IS REAL AND WHAT IS NOT. I KNOW ALL ON BOARD KNOW WHAT THE REAL DEAL IS. JUST EXPRESSING MYSELF OK.
Thank you.
Sisterly love to all,

Hello E&E
I can realate to your comments above - especially the following
I would not doubt many are just going through the motions of running through the material. We are not made in such a way (My opinion) to keep digesting the same things over and over and over and over and over and over, and our minds are expected to grow. Well my mind does not work that way. I am happy for any minds that do. Good for you.
yep, all pre digested - its all milk - then they tell you to get off the milk - contradiction!
I find it very difficul to have any real discussions on bible passages with the b&s - they dont discuss the bible
It's bizarre because the wto creates a superficial world and then tells people to not be superficial
spiritual maturity to me means - using the Joseph example - that when one is faced with making a choice between what is right and wrong we automatically respond in a righteous way - that we have become so much like Jesus that we dont even have to think about what to do, we just do it - because that is who we are and have become -its not needing some article to tell us what to do or even having to think of a bible example at the time
I was watching a program on the Ammish last nite - and some of them are having the same problems with their organization - they are disfellowedshipped if they independantly get together to read the bible - and the members are not allowed to question the authority of the elders and the leaders who make all the rules

Yepper Billy 2, it is can be quite disturbing. I understand what you are saying in regards to creating a superficial world. (Inside) There is a Bible Student I am very familar with (belongs to another b/s) and this person realizes all is not well in the WT Spiritual Paradise. Jehovah has allowed opporunities for me to (with caution and love) mention several things. So far I have not gotten into trouble. So I would imagine this person is not repeating (for now) what I have said.
You will be just fine. I like the way your expressed your comments about spiritual maturity using Joseph. A very good reminder for me also. Thank you.
MAY YOU CONTINUE TO HOLD ON TIGHT BILLY2 OKEY DOKEY
