Your rod and your staff are the things that comfort me.—Ps. 23:4.

Jehovah does not promise miraculous intervention in our behalf. But of this we can be sure: Jehovah will help us to get through whatever obstacles we may face. He can grant us the wisdom to cope “with various trials.” (Jas. 1:2-5) A shepherd uses his rod or staff not only to ward off predators but also to nudge his sheep in the right direction. Jehovah can “nudge” us, perhaps by means of a fellow worshipper, to apply Bible-based counsel that may make a big difference in our situation. In addition, Jehovah can give us the strength to endure. (Phil. 4:13) By means of his holy spirit, he can equip us with “power beyond what is normal.” (2 Cor. 4:7) God’s spirit can enable us to endure any test that Satan might bring upon us. (1 Cor. 10:13) Is it not comforting to know that Jehovah is ever ready to help us? w 11/1/05 13, 15

:ban_dance01: This is one of the best texts that I have read so far (MY OPINION ONLY) this year. This is why I HOLD ON TIGHT TO JEHOVAH. Yup he gives us the strength to endure beyond what we could not possibly handle on our own by means of his Holy Spirit.

It is certainly Jehovah that is carrying US ALL THROUGH THE MANY TESTS SOME OF US ARE INDIVIDUALLY ENDURING AS MORE AND MORE OF US BECOME AWARE OF CERTAIN ISSUES, ARE PAYING VERY CLOSE ATTENTION AND ARE BEGINNING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT JEHOVAH IS SAYING TO US REGARDING IT ALL.

Please continue to hold on to Jehovah and let his rod and staff be a source of comfort as the text says.

The evil one is not backing off right now.

Thanks for the text barry. I think to truly bennifit from Jehovah's guidance/staff.... we really, as so many here has already pointed out, need to learn to decern when Jehovah is speaking to us. I think barry hit the nail right on the head when he said that Jehovah may use fellow worshipers to help us by sharing bible principles that may help us a great deal. (Not an exact quote barry. sorry) But what im also begining to notice in my own personal situation is that Jehovah also uses the most unlikely sources and people to help us out. Maybe its that Preacher guy who you always find yourself debating with, who all of a sudden says a nice comforting word that you didnt expect. Or maybe its "Elder Holier than thou" who for some reason or another...finally give you a nice welcoming smile. But we all know that most of all Jehovah uses his word the Bible. For those like myself, reading it daily can be like eating liver (an aquired tast) but it diffentaly has long lasting spiritual bennifits. In fact its the most potant form of Gods holy spirit that we have readily available.

Hi LV,

The daily text is not my own comment, but the comment from the 'daily text' book.
I post is as is, for those who have no access to the book.
And sometimes it is interesting to comment on the WT's comment
