View Full Version : I would like to introduce myself to everyone
First of all, I would like to thank the administration for allowing me to have an account.
My name is "JB" and I am an unbaptized studier of the truth. I began studying when I was 15/16 and stoped when I moved to North Carolina. Low and behold the truth came knocking on my door while in NC and I continued my studies. I stoped again when I moved back to my original home here in Kansas City for several years. I am now 31 and recently on my own located the nearest KH and started to attend meetings. I really really enjoy reading and studying the bible, and I believe in Jehovah and the doctrines, I'm just scared of taking my faith to far. I am worried about bringing up questions that bother me about some things within the organisation, and I feel I will let people down, that have spent their time with me. But to make this short before I go to far, I enjoy reading the bible and asking respectful questions and that is why I am here. That is what I would rather spend my time on, rather then worrying if everyone in the congregation thinks that I don't truly belive because I do some small thing wrong that I was completly ignorant to (such as I have a ghoatee)
Anyway Hi all and I look forward to discussing the WT articles with you all.
If anyone has questions for me I will gladly answer.

Hello JB and a hearty welcome to you!
Hope you enjoy visiting with us at this forum. You will find that most here have a sincere interest in learning more about what the Bible has to say to us at this time. While the Witnesses claim to have "the truth," I think you will realize from those posting here that JWs have some truth but certainly not the whole truth and nothing but the truth. They also have some delusions as well. Their main problem is that they are not open to any sort of discussion by the rank and file on anything that comes from the Society. It is their way or the highway. If you are a thinking person, as you seem to be, that will be palatable for only so long.
That's where we come in! You are allowed to think and question on this forum! I think that you will like it. In any case, welcome!

Dear truth seeker, the search you must undertake involves multiple layers of progressive excavation and self development. "The Truth," as we have come to know, is only a small fraction of the puzzle we're faced with. I believe, as many here do, that JW's possess a great deal of truth. But in this case "The Truth" becomes its own achilles heel. There are too many baseless commands and senseless measuring lines founded upon prejudice, biased perceptions, and ignorant hysteria.

Hi JB:
Welcome, but you'll have to shave that face to get along here. No, just kidding, facial hair is approved by the board, I think. Anyway, welcome.

I am worried about bringing up questions that bother me about some things within the organisation.
No worries here JB, your questions are welcome. We all have lots of questions. We may not come up with all the answers, but we enjoy trying to figure things out. This forum has provided some of the best Bible discussions I've ever seen.

HI JB
welcome
i also am not baptized, and studied only for a relatively short time with JWs and attended only a few public talks
although that was over 10 years ago and i have studied most of their literature and still recieve occassional visits from them.
i hope, as i have, you find this site a place of encouragement and learning and somewhere to shelter from the world

Hi JB, welcome. I always love to here how ones study, move and then are found again, move and found again. I remember praying and JW turning up at the door, I guess we may think it a coincidence, but I know in my heart that it wasn't. Jehovah will not allow any of his sheep to go missing, he will always search out those that have a spiritual thirst to get to know him.
This board is very enlightening, and you anything you ask is always taken with intent to help, I have learned so much since being here and am thankful that Jehovah has helped me to see what I needed so I can continue to grow.:)
Cheers
