WTBTS Purpose Today

Hi Again Everyone,


This is a sincere question, it has been on my mind for awhile now.

Does anyone have any thoughts on WHAT EXACTLY IS THE PURPOSE OF THE WTBTS TODAY/NOW/OUR PRESENT TIME? (not sure which wording to use)


Has Jehovah really withdrawn his spirit from this society? Or is that in the future? :huh::confused::confused:
As you can see, I am getting myself a little mixed up again.

Would appreciate something from someone.

Wanted to add this: I have learned from this board that Jehovah used the WTBTS to gather and teach in the past. But is that still the same purpose now 2009. I also understand about the Man of Lawlessness, etc. Hope I am not sounding too goofy.

My understanding is that there purpose is to disseminate information about Jehovah and his kingdom. Helping ones to learn about the basics of Jehovah and our purpose in life.
When I attend the meetings I always hear sober reasoning but also hear drunken reasoning. The bible says the Faithful operate along with the Wicked until the seperating of the 2 begin. So I am for certain Jehovahs spirit is on the Faithful ones within the WTBTS and he is watching over his nation of people, but not approving of anyone wicked within.

To my surprise yesterday at my special assembly day, a member of the GB was there Bro. Morris. All his talks were very sober, and they were mainly about Satan working from within the congregation to tear it apart. He applied all of 2 Peter to the horrible things happening within the Congregation today. No mention of a Spiritual Paradise.

<personal opinion>I don't think Jehovah prefers to use organizations; he only does so because humans always seem to want to form them. Therefore, He doesn't put his spirit on entire organizations or take it away from entire organizations. If there is a faithful individual in an organization full of wicked ones, he can receive Holy Spirit. If there is a wicked one in an organization full of faithful individuals, he shall lack Holy Spirit. It isn't an all-or-nothing organizational blessing or curse. However, when he punishes the unfaithful, their entire organization will be destroyed, and the faithful will be given a chance to "get out of her."</personal opinion>

It is important to remember that Jehovah's purpose is to have no human organization as all individuals know Him and worship Him with spirit and truth.

Oh Im glad you said something he used 2 Peter 3: 3,4 . Yet he expanded on this with other scriptures that Im not finding in my notes, scriptures about fornicators and uncleaness applying it to within the congregation.

Hmmm I wonder if he was speaking about spiritual fornicators and uncleanness inside Jehovah's household/Temple as opposed to sexual immorality, etc.

I've heard him speak before also.

To be honest with you it seemed as though he was Subtlely prepareing ones for some of the crashes in our belief systems that watchman speaks about. You know in a way that wasn't obvious. And in a very small way.

Thanks for the gloomy forecast, E & E.:cry: As you might be aware, I'm 56+, so I'm right on your heels and catching up fast and lately there are more and more days I feel like 70 or 80.:crazy::crutch.sml::huilen:

lets look at the good that the society does. they supply printed and video material galore in many languages,they do wonders legal wise to keep us able to preach openly.they provide free training and job expeiriance for those that wil take it. they help put togeather the frame work of our kingdom halls.. now some of the bad in my opinion. wbts treats people like oranges they sqweeze till the juice is gone and we end up feeling used up.
their is a stonewall standared you either conform or get put out. the average br.sis gets none of the legal financial or medical that the important members have. as to a simple what is the purpose of the wbts i would have to say that they are both our school,and police dept. although not always liked,they do form a needed buffer between us and the world .

How I understand what my mom was going through now. If she was alive and could see me, she would really get a good laugh. For several years now, I have been forgetful, and this would make her really smile for all the smart things I used to say to her.:D

I know all of us are so looking forward to Jehovah's promise of
everlasting life on earth and not having to ever age. I can hardly wait.

WTBTS Purpose Today

Good question. Main purpose is to serve as a legal entity.

Here is an explanation:

We thereby conform to local and national laws, as required by God’s Word. (Jeremiah 32:11; Romans 13:1) Legal entities facilitate our work of spreading the Kingdom message by printing Bibles, books, magazines, brochures, and other material. Such entities also serve as legal instruments to handle matters related to property ownership, relief efforts, contracts for the use of convention facilities, and so forth. We are thankful for the services of such legal entities.

I think the ones in the WTS that are honest hearted are still being used. Something as simple as looking at the new songbook, and some of the songs are so expressive of what we are dealing with, and are such a cry out to Jehovah. Something so simple, yet it's a gift.

I see all the bad and think sometimes they have overstayed their welcome. But at the same time, I only see that because I was able to use all that "beginning" knowledge to build on to get to this point. How likely is it REALLY that we would have come to these understandings without that "beginning" knowledge that we got from the org?

It seems to me they still serve that purpose of getting the basic truths of Jehovah out to the common people. Past that is where they start to screw up.
