Church against Government?

Okay...maybe it's just me, but after seeing this, my first thought was "this is it." Because after reading this a scenario plays out. The gov may just say "Well if you're not going to obey and rebel, then we'll just ban you!"

But this was just released today, and google alerts picked it up. The first link shows how many news sites have already talked of it. (Spreading fast.)

This doesnt look good at all, its a very strange set up really as most of these churches are members of the "world council of churches" so theres a part of me which feels theres individuals behind this who know exactly what there doing, while you have others who are genuinely concerned about the way the church is going. But i gather these is a deliberate ploy to bring about the reforming or banning of religion, theres no way Obama is going to go against gay weddings and the banning of abortions. All this looks pretty sinister considering the climate of things both in Europe and the US.

Well it depends on how you view it.

On one hand you can say that this is setting the stage for the powers that be to get fed up with religion and use this to turn on it.

On the other hand it shows that regardless of the wrong understandings and therefore teachings of these so-called Christians, that JW’s are not the only ones who stand up to the governments for Christ. Which raises the question of, whom really belong to him? Does he look only with-in some 7 million+ individuals or is it much more then is currently thought to be?

That's really well put Anthony, as we get closer in to this tribulation i think this view will become more apparent. Has Jehovah literally condemned all of Christendom, despite the stand they are making on abortion, same sex marriage etc. There are also things which Jehovah's witnesses dont make mention of anymore, like vaccination for children which contain aborted fetal tissue and being an NGO and investments in Rand Corp. Yes they carry his name but doesn't this put them in a worse standing. Only time will tell and it looks like where fast approaching it. Isn't Christianity the belief of Jesus and the name of which all knees shall bend. If the new world order is going to kill all Christians who dont receive the mark and persecute those who refuse to worship the wild beast surely Jesus ransom sacrifice include these faithful individuals, let alone a Muslim which makes a stand for christ in his final hour.

Thank you for that Anthony, this will be a difficult one for American Jehovahs Witnesses to deal with while going on field service. Now you have certain Christian denominations making a stand to even go to prison for their beliefs, while we are preaching that Jehovah is going to kill them at Armageddon, all this is going to make it more difficult for the brothers.
