View Full Version : What is everyone's thoughts on this?
This is a song from one of my favorite bands Megadeth. I know it is not appropiate probably to listen to them but I really respect Dave Mustaine as a gutairist. I just wanted everyone to at least read the lyrics to this song and tell me if they hold any credit. For those that do not keep up on Dave Mustaine, he is a born again christian, and this is a song that I find very compelling. Anyway if you dont like the loud guitars I am posting the link with the lyrics so you can turn down your speakers.

I personally cant stand this music, but the lyrics are definately taken from the bible. I guess they can probably reach more of these music lovers with this message than knocking on the door with the bible. Most of the heavy metal lovers dont even like the name god, but may listen to the message through this music. There was a Rock guy once on the Alex Jones show and he played all this sort of music which was bible based. He said his mother was a Jehovahs Witness but he got tired of the restrictions and preached his own way, dont know if this could be him:confused:

Alo ha,
This reminds me of a lot of modern thinking and interpretation.
Many believe Washington (US Gov.) is Babylon.
I believe Babylon is all false practices, regardless of where they are found,
and they are found about everywhere.
That is why we were warned to flee to the mountains,
when we catch sight of the disgusting thing (let the reader use discernment).
Megadeath is in no small way Satanic (see pic behind musician).
Not a good source of Christ-like example. But more than likely a source of dis-information.
That's more like Babylon.
I know he would hate knowing he is the thing he campaigns against.
But pride and arrogance can do that to a person.

Hi JB,
What would you like to hear? Mustaine is a pretty good speed metal guitarist. He can’t sing. He admits that himself, but his ego will not allow him to let anyone else be the front man. The song gives the impression that he has something prophetic to say by borrowing others phrases. If you're young enough, you may be impressed by the borrowed Anglicized Latin motto's from the Great Seal of the United States.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_Great_Seal_Reverse.svg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_Great_Seal_Reverse.svg)
The song itself is way to long for what it has to say. As a song, it is poorly written. Five minutes and 18 seconds, with six verses, three choruses, and two guitar solos. The meter/metre of the song structure is off. It’s two verses, a chorus, two verses, a chorus, solo by Dave, two verses, a chorus, solo be Chris, two verses, and last chorus.
Of course, that’s Megadeth’s choice of writing structure. From your opening statement, I believe you are a big fan of Megadeth, so don’t take this as a personal attack of your musical tastes. I’m a metal-head myself, and proud of it.

I must be getting old. But I think that "music" is total crap. I see why they call them hand-bangers though. I got a headache from just listening to the first minute. I don't really see the point of it. Is there one?

Thank you, I thought there were similarities. Because Alex Jones plays it during intervals and if im nodding off to sleep this music startles me and wakes me up. Like Robert I really cant see what people see in this trype of music, i dont feel any good vibe from it, perhaps Roberts correct were getting old :p

"I'm a metal-head myself", refers to persons who like what is called Heavy Metal in the world of music. Megadeth is classified as a Heavy Metal band. Personally, I don't care that much for them. One of their new songs, “Head Crusher”, was nominated for a Grammy award for “Best Metal Performance”. They didn't win, but one of my favorite groups, Judas Priest, did win. But not for a song that I thought was good enough. They have better songs, in my opinion. Maybe I should write a treatise on Heavy Metal music. It would explain how it developed, and where it came from. (And it wasn't the Devil.) ................... (Than again, maybe it is.)
"Getting older", awe come on! You are starting to sound like some of the parents, in the 50's. (Hint, hint) Were you there for the ruckus that Elvis started? Remember that, Ed Sullivan wouldn't allow the TV cameras to show Elvis from the waist down? All that awful rock 'n' roll music was causing kids to rebel. And, “it's just a lot of noise.”
WARNING: I'm going to get a little facetious here. (Playfully jocular, amusing; humorous. It implies a desire to be amusing, often intrusive or ill-timed) But at the same time, I interject serious subject matter. If you get offended, don't blame me if you read beyond this point.
As for the genre of Heavy Metal music, there are quite a few classifications. I used to get a look of disgust, from the brothers when they would come over to visit. They would ask, "Are you letting your kids listen to that?" My answer was, "No, that's my records! I'm listening to it." I thought they were going to have a heart attack. Thankfully, they didn't, because I would have had to give them mouth to mouth resuscitation. I think they would have had to die. Then when people asked why they died, I'd have to say, "It was that awful Heavy Metal, Devil Music that killed them." I'm not putting my lips to theirs. I would be disfellowshipped for being a homosexual, or even adulterous if I am a sister.
“I'm not sure I want popular opinion on my side -- I've noticed those with the most opinions often have the fewest facts.” - Bethania McKenstry
That's one of the things about JW's. They are very judgmental, without considering all the facts. They are no different than many Evangelical Baptists. They forget that we are all subject to Jehovah's judgment, not theirs. The WTB&TS doesn't want us to think for ourselves, does it? And music is an area that they also want to control. They treat the sheep like babies, like we can't think for ourselves, because we will make bad decisions. They even want to tell us what type of work/employment is appropriate. “Oh, brother/sister you can't be employed in law enforcement, you will have to carry a gun. That is not a Christian thing to do. Oh, brother/sister … blah, blah, blah. Listen to us, we know what's good for you. Don't do this. Don't do that.” Don't, don't don't.
“All my hopes and expectation
Looking for an explanation
Coming to the realisation
That I can't see for sure”
Dream Of Mirrors – Iron Maiden
And so it goes. That too shall pass.

Sorry if I have offended anyone, my point was not to push this musical style on anyone..........just the lyrics, that is why I posted this video so the lyrics could be read with out hearing them. What I was trying to ask was if what he was saying holds any credit with the bible. Prophets, 8th king and NWO. Or if it was half true and half not.
Sorry for making everyone listen..........I promise my intent was lyrics only.

No offense on your part. Like I said, I'm just getting old. Here's the kind of crap I was listening to 40 years ago. Theres no need to apologise, I understand where your coming from..theres a christian Rap artist out at the moment who did a rap over one of Jay Z's songs, where he is exposing Jay z, Beyonce and Rehana for their freemasonry and satanism and his abuse of gods name Jehovah, i think its brilliant but others would say they cant stand it. As long as its bringing awareness to the wrong doing then thats all good, because kids are so easily influenced.
As for the link you posted this song mentions the 8th king which is mentioned in the book of Revelation.
Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits, and they are seven kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while. And the beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is one of the seven, and he goes to destruction. And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour. These have one purpose and they give their power and authority to the beast. REV 17:9-13
But in the song he also mentions the king being crazy, the only mad king i know of that had dreams is in
Daniel 4:18 This is the dream which I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, tell me its interpretation, inasmuch as none of the wise men of my kingdom is able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for a spirit of the holy gods is in you.'
Daniel 4:25 That they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will.
So yes it is taken from the bible, wether it is linked or just random im not sure:)

My thoughts are that Dave knows exactly what is going to happen, its all there in the Bible anyway anyone can see it if they look. That doesn't necessarily mean the person is going to submit to the moral requirements and so forth.
I remember an old girlfriend of mine telling me "I know the truth, but Im not going to let that effect my life."
I think alot of people know whats going to happen but like my old girlfriend they are happy going down in flames. Dave though when I heard a interview says, he is planning to survive Armageddon and to be honest I hope he does and everyone else.

What you said is very true and this is what sets us apart, even though we all have free will some will not take that course of independance as their first parents did. Even though laden down with sin some are still able to Search for truth despite the difficulties it brings, while others turn their noses up at it even if it was offered on a plate. Yes Jehovah has given us all free choice, but we who are his children want to make his heart rejoice and a reply to the one that is taunting him.
MT 12:33 "Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
