no insult intended to w.b.t.s or any kingdom hall, but were is the charitey fund? the bible states plainly that their was monies set aside for the poor in the apostles money box,
so why is it we have no group provision, or needy fund? yes it is well known on the news that jehovahs witnesses help with natural disasters, but in todays terrible economy should their not be a special fund? the way it is now, a person feels ashamed and like he is burdening his brother if a need arises, in my opinion their should be a comfortable method were a person in need can call the kingdomhall and say can someone help me? without feeling like a pariah!
your input greatly apreciated!

Yes I know of a situation about five years ago now where a brother and sister in the congregation were in a desperate state as they could not afford to even pay their electricity bill.
They needed this electricity to run the water pump that pumped the water into their house from the water storage tank.
Now this was a result from bad management on their part and that is true, but they were also a family going through an extreme emotional crisis which effected their ability to manage their resources as a whole.
The elders chaffed at the bit, in this regards as to giving them money out of the kingdom hall fund and as I understand this couple did eventually receive help from elsewhere and not from the congregation.
But is this acceptable? I don't think so.

yes thats exactly what im talking about, some body in need for what ever reason can not go to the kingdom hall for help without feeling like their lowdown dirtbags for haveing to ask for help, their needs to be a provision were a brother or sister can fill out a need form drop it in the box and receive help quickly, without the guilt! i have gone to redcross, salvation army, and alpha omega, in my hardtimes because i felt so embarassed the one time i asked the elders i will not do it again. jesus said specificly: what good is it to say go in peace be fed and clothed well! yet you give nothing to him! its my hopes that some bethel spy[lol] should see this and know that we as jehovahs witnesses as the spirtual feeders of men should also look out for physical needs least we stand before jesus and hear depart from me! i was hungry and you gave me nothing, lacking clothes, and in jail and you offered no kindness away with you ! oh kingdomhall lets make that change!

Yes at one time when the International convention was on a few years ago, I had mentioned to an elder ( a well meaning elder) that we could not go to the convention as we were financially bankrupt.
Anyway he went away and spoke to the other elders in the congregation about this to see if they could get some funds for us and the answer that came back was no, because we were spiritually weak in their eyes (not regular in field service, not going to all the meetings each week, etc) so according to them we were not of good spiritual standing in the congregation and so therefore did not qualify for any financial assistance from the congregation.
And so that was that, we did not go, we could not go, we had no funds to do so.

future man thats a most horrible story! if you would have asked me i would have said heres the money bring me some pictures! i could not go i get no days off at this gas station.hey i wonder did jesus ask the demoniac ,hey man before i heal you did you try to make the demons leave yourself? or pray?
future man i work in a gas station, i do charitey 2 ways #1 if i see someone in need or if he/she asks i get it for them no guilt trip.
#2 if i see an abled bodied man/women in a self imposed situation[joe lost his money gambleing and cant eat now] i say hey joe can you go detail a car for me? it pays cash! after joe cleans the car i say straight out joe no more pool games with johny pool shark ok? as i hand him his pay. joe hangs his head but i smile and say been their brother done that! and now joe lifts his head smiles i help him pick up some groceries he pays and i drop him off at his home. i have helped my brother without uglifying him. to the brothers who could not find a way to help you i say shame on you! again i hope some bethel spys l.o.l see this and brings this to the governing body and they say yes we cant do less then the pentacostle church who simply says we have a need for brother future man who wants to go to camp meeting heres a box everybody that can help out! well their was 75 people that gave $5 a piece and the other 25 gave $ 10 or more.
hey future man can you guys make it a week on$ 625? yes brothers and sisters this is how the church down the road does it! kingdomhall lets represent jesus a little more real..

Its so sad to admit but its definately true, i've been there myself. Iv'e even seen a brother recently lose his home, and all his belongings and none of his family who are witnesses would help him out, so I aloud him to stay on my sofa until he was able to move on. There's definately an issue with charity, why call yourself a charity if your not actually helping your own needy:confused:

i hope i am totally wrong here but i beleive a judgmental, and critical spirit among jehovahs people is to blame, an example of what i mean[what the elder is thinking in his head]
sorry about your problems brother needy but its your own fault for not being closer to jehovah!
yes again i admit jehovahs wittnesses take care of their own. but jesus said even the wicked do that!
kingdom halls hear the need ! its no value at all to be the best preachers in the world unless you practice charitey! the apostles stated that without charitey your clanging cymbol[ an anoying noise]!
could this be a reason why many shun the visits of jehovahs wittnesses? a kingdom hall which demands physical labor to please jehovah but dosent return the favor? hmmmmm we need some change here.
