Below is what comes to my mind as i will be celebrating the memorial.

Jah and Jesus made us in their image. When Jesus came to the earth,he was still in that image himself though in a human body. Jesus was no less in that image as he was in heaven. The body is not what determines the value of that gift. He died so that the opportunity would not be lost for us to still be in that image as adam was before he sined. Even though we are still in that image but in a flawed way,Jeus came so that we have it in full...to have it like adam did as orginally intended.

Both Jah and Jesus went to a lot of trouble for humans to become lovable via that gift of being in their image, that Jesus had to come to earth to redeem that..its was to valuable to be lost. Even though Jesus knew what he would go through in order for us to have the opportunity again,he still came so that we might have that life filled with love again...via that gift of being in jahs image.

So not only will we have that 'image' again in the new world, but it will be valuable because Jah and Jesus went to great lengths to save that value so it would not be lost. It will be doubly valuable, not just because we will be like God again...but also because we will have seen what lengths both our Fathers went to in order that we might have a second chance at having it.

Jesus knew what a gift it was to be made like Jah..to the point that he accpeted it for the tresure it was and adopted the values that Jah himself had adopted...and it was these that made Jah a wonderful person. Jesus saw this as His son and wanted to be like His Father. So Jesus now saw the values that Jah stood for and proceeded to become like His Father. BUT,it was the gift that Jesus had recieved from His Father that made it possible to see his Fathers wonderous qualites as beautiful and then to adopt them.

Knowing THIS,Jesus had to also involve himself in rescueing the very thing that enabled him to have this life of Love and Joy. Jesus had the same thing as adam...and adam could have had the same thing as Jesus. We can have the same thing as Jesus because it was given to adam..and we still have it partially. Yet the time will come when we can have it in full and have the same life of love and joy as Jesus.

The body we have will not limit the extent of this Love and Joy.

Both sacrificed so much for us to have an oportunity to have that again. The memorial is not a celebration of Jesus death, but a celebration of the life that he had and wanted us to have. This is why he died. Because of the Joy he had with his Father and how he wants us to have the same thing. This thing we have in small measure, but one day will be made in full. Jesus paid the price for this to happen. This is what we will be celebrating !

THose are wholesome words Jahsdisciple,
yes it is the good news of the kingdom, Christ died for mankind so that mankind can live forever. that is something to be celebrated.

"Most assuredly i say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned to joy.
a woman, when she is in labor has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.
therefore you now have sorrow; but i will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you"

Luke 24:51,52

" now it came to pass while he blessed them, that he was parted from them and carried up into heaven
and they worshipped Him and returned to jerusalem with great Joy and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God"

excellent thougts JD
what Christ and His Father did for us must be celebrated

After posting on a thread started by Elihu about Jesus and the memorial,it got me thinking about what happens in Heaven..ESP the passage of 40 days after Jesus ressurection and accention to heaven.

This is when Jesus was recieved back into heaven. I cant even imagine the joy that must have occured as Jah got to have His sone back..and the picture in the Revelation book of the heavenly gathering around Jahs throne helped me to imagine..perhaps..how Jesus presented the value before Jehovah on His throne.

Something like this had to be celebrated, surely.

If we are commanded to celebrate Jesus death which happened here on earth, the significance of Jesus returning in HEAVEN also had to be marked as a special event to be celebrated !

We cant afford to think that the earth and what happenes here is the only sphere of importance. Our brothers / family are 'up there' and we have rare glimpses of events that happen there.

So,40 days from Nissan 14,we might like to consider what this will mean for events in Heaven. We are interconnected, even though we dont know for sure what happens in Heaven. But if we are commanded to remember His death,we can be sure that Jesus living again is even more important as the benefits that will come from him being alive will last forever.

His death actually MEANS LIFE. Death is only one phase of His journey. He has been alive since then for nearly 2,000 years...and what He has is because of his dying and sacrificing his life.

SO,roughly in 30 days time, perhaps we can ponder what will be happening in heaven as they celebrate what Jesus coming back meant to them ! Wish i could be a fly on that wall.

I know its a month before we celebrate the memorial, but as we see so many terrible things happening,I try to remember that one day all this will end...and it will be Jesus who will be at the forefront of getting things back to how things are supposed to be.

Both Jehovah and Jesus "love us so much",that both made an incredible sacrifice for us to have hope. When i look at the full moon next month,I will be trying think of how i can show my gratitude by examining my life to make it worthy of what they did.

Peace and Love be with you all !
