It was 70 degrees F. in New York City today, after 2 solid months of extraordinarily warm weather. About half the people are overjoyed, ecstatic about not having to shovel snow, and saving on their heating bills. The other half are "worried", "concerned" that it is not a good sign. They are going beyond "global warming", some saying that "God is sending a message", or that the entire earth seems to be "out of whack".

How quickly some have forgotten Hurricane Katrina, of the earthquake-induced tsunami in Indonesia.

The Revelation seems to be saying that the earth may experience 42 months of drought. Do you think that there will be masses of people saying it is "environmental", or "co-incidence"? The prophecy also says that in spite of the "plagues", they "will not repent of their sins".

I believe that when Jehovah really does start sending undeniable messages, the ground for preaching will become very fertile. That excites me.

Have a wonderful weekend, my wife and I are going for a bike ride in January!

eh... so you're saying that katrina was God's doing or Man's (due to global warning)? sorry, I'm still unaware of HOW exactly this is all Man's doing... The dust bowl of the '30s lasted about 10 years, yet global warming didn't start until some tree hugger decided to call it a crisis... (JMHO). what about the mini-ice age from 1300 to 1800s? the year without a summer (1816)? where are the explainations for these? Now, i'm not going to deny that temps are rising, but who has been around long enough to say that this isn't natural variation? core samples tell us that there have been heating and cooling cycles of the earth for a LONG time... what makes this different? just because WE'RE here?

When I think plagues, I think BIG, not something that can be explained... BAM BAM BAM... but then, people can find a way to explain EVERYTHING in a light they want to see it in.... Que Sera, Sera

Interesting how all is coming to a head...doesn't really matter cause Jehovah's going to have to reshape the earth anyway..how else could grain grow on the top of moutians..

Hello Sketch, nice to meet you.

Actually, I don't know the reason for these things, maybe I subliminally suggested something? My opinion is that the earth is "agitated". And if it is indeed a "natural cycle", then the timing of that cycle is definitely conspicuous, being that prophecies are now being fulfilled at an accelerated rate.

In any event, people are talking, and they're talking about God. I think that's a good thing.

Perhaps a lot of people have been praying that thier flight does not occur in winter time?

Didnt we allways wonder how Jehovah could answer that prayer for people in both hemispheres?

I too find the warm weather strange. However, I personally wouldn't be too quick to say that Jehovah is causing these variations per se or that it is prophetic. I did read somewhere that this is an El Nino year, so it would be expected that temperatures would rise, but obviously the rise in temperatures might not be attributed simply to that. Global warming also plays a key role in rising temperatures.

I actually would like to see some more snow, as we have had so little this year. I like snow (but after three months or so I want to start seeing leaves on the trees).

Hi Jeshurun! :)

I like snow, but I think Colorado has a bit of a problem at the moment!

Besides, Colorado is too far from my home. I am much closer to you.
