“Remain Close to Jehovah”

I attended Sundays program and was very impressed, it was a real eye opener!

The Drama was very unique, as the speaker in his prologue stated “this is the strongest information in a Drama that has been presented in many years” and I agree! (just a side note the brother that presented the drama, I studyed with for about 1-1/2 years or should I say he studied with me after I was reinstated the last time)
The difference for me was I understood it from a completely diffrent angel than the majority of those in attendance.
I have much more to say on this subject but would be very interested in any coments by any who attended and if any on the board have not attended I would strongly recommend you do!

We can’t forget that there is still wheat with in the weeds at Bethel; I’m beginning to believe we need to read between the lines!

Yes I attended. There was many good talks on Creation and Jehovahs abilitys and wonderful works that I enjoyed. I appreciated this because of all the emphasis on evolution these days there seems to be no one fighting back. The drama was interesting and thought provoking. Really brought that time period to life, showed us a believable story that could have happened.

Poor guy. He must being thinking that from around 7,000 to 10,000 people why did he have to get picked to interview. (Hey SOJ, by any chance was that you?):D

Yeah I saw this video too either last week or the week before. Actually it's really sad. He's 100% programmed.

Ironic isn't it? Jehovah's Witnesses claim to have the truth, but most can't tell the truth. There are actually at least two other videos I'm aware of that exist where brothers were caught lying.

It shouldn't really surprise us, right? I mean, I wonder who taught them how to lie?

I found the convention interesting and realistic. Attendance at the Friday convention is usually about 10,000 lower than Saturday and Sunday. But Friday's attendance (23,000) was the same as Saturday. Bethel's campaign to improve Friday's attendance has paid off.

Friday

A 15 year old was interviewed, where both his parents had left the Truth. His father had done a lot of research on articles on the internet which discredited JWs. And he was wasting his time remaining in the Org. The son remained in the Truth, by not focusing on things which "tear down".

That was interesting. Instead of brandishing all negative internet material on JWs as apostate lies, they pointed out that not focusing on things that tear down, would help one to be positive in the Truth. So, indirectly they're saying that not all negative internet material on JWs are lies.

There was an informative talk on what the bible means when it says Jehovah "felt regret". It means he basically changes his attitude to a planned course of action.

Saturday

It was mentioned that some brothers were buying lottery tickets and starting pyramid selling, in order to get rich.


Sunday

DRAMA: Good. The main points were to let Jehovah's direction guide our steps, and to value spiritual things.

Remain in the Secret Place of the Most High: Great talk which explained that if you say in your heart, that Jehovah is our refuge and trust, then we are in the secret place of the Most High.

In a landmark judgement of the European Court of Human Rights, JWs can be registered as a religion in Russia.

Lastly, there was a desperate and bizarre attempt to apply more whitewash on the 1914 partition wall regarding the new anointed generation teaching. They explained that Brother Franz was anointed in 1913, and that others were anointed after that year, but were contemporaries of Brother Franz. This second anointed group were part of the "generation" that will see the end of this system of things.

Ironically the negative information comes from the Watchtower Society's own literature from the past.
Their own information that they have printed in the past has now resurfaced on the Internet and is haunting them, and is now discrediting them.

Several months ago, probably when the thread you mention was created, one of my Witness relatives tried to 'recruit' me (and another relative) into this ACN thing. This other relative and I were looking at each other and we talked afterward as to how my Witness relative could fall for this. Actually, this is not the first pyramid scheme that my relative fell for.

I didn't take the offer.

Every time I Google "jehovah's witnesses district convention 2011" this site is on the front page, often at the top.

The interesting thing is the Watchtower.org is no where to be seen.

If individuals are looking on-line for convention dates e-jehovahswitnesses might be their first port of call.:cool:
