View Full Version : 144,000 And Women
So I have always wondered how can there be women in the group of 144,000 because all the scriptures point to only males being apart of it. So I am happy now that reading through the bible I have finaly found scriptures that say women are a part of the 144,000. Here are the scriptures that I found. 1Peter 3:7 and 1Peter 5:12-14. At the start of 1Peter he says this letter is addressed to the chosen ones. So if anyone else can find scriptures to show that women are also apart of the 144,000 that would be great. Why is this a big deal to me??? Because it seems as if all who are not JWs believe that it is only males that are of the 144,000 and also that the chosing of the 144,000 was back during the time of Jesus. Oh and I am not a female i'm a male :ban_dance01:

my guess is that instead of "male" as we know it, angels are considered "asexual", having no gender, but with the incredible power, that they are considered "masculine"?
I've either just answered the question or upset a LOT of angels...
I guess I should have stated it like this, I can't see how women could become apart of the 144,000. I know that the 144,000 are not men or women but I was meaning that I couldnt find scriptures to support that women could be called or be of the chosen.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor freeman, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one person in union with Christ Jesus

That is a good one Jinn Gala 3:28, 1Peter 3:7, 1Peter 5:12-14. Well I got three so far to prove that women can have a calling. Most people of non JW religon that I have talk to say that the 144,000 only pertain to males because of what Revelation 14:4 says. A lot of places in the bible uses the term man or male when infact it is talking about both male and female but they just use man or male. Any more scriptures?

A lot of places in the bible uses the term man or male when infact it is talking about both male and female but they just use man or male. Any more scriptures?[/b]The scriptures often use "gender" in terms of classifying subjection. For example, we read in the scriptures that Jerusalem is "likened" to that of a woman when in subjection to Jehovah as his "wife". We also learn that "Babylon the Great" is a woman, that claims "I am no widow". Likewise, Christ's bride (who is made up of the anointed) is also likened to that of a woman. Why? Because they are in subjection to Jesus Christ, as he is their head and master.
We are taught that the head of every man is Jesus Christ. Likewise, the head of the woman is the man. This demonstrates Jehovahs arrangement for "subjection".
All of those who are of Christ's bride are also likened to "adopted sons". In this role, they are not in subjection to earthly man... rather they play the roll of "Sons" when it concerns preaching "the kingdom". So yes, even those who are women in the flesh become as "Sons of God" when it concerns teaching others about the kingdom. Yet, they themselves are part of the "bride" when it concerns their Master Jesus Christ.
So we see from these various examples that based on the role and context of individuals within scripture, that the anointed, and anyone else for that matter, can both act as "Sons", and as women, ie: "chaste virgins". The defining factor is always based on "subjection".

From my experiance, "christians" believe that the 144,000 will be males's, virgins & literally from the restored literal nation of Israel.
Of course, this is to neglect the fact that Revelation is primaraly a book of symbols.
Just as Jesus is not a literal lamb or the Congregations are literal candlesticks the 144,00 are not literal males, virgins or drawn from the literal 12 tribes of Israel.
Jinn brought out the most fulfilling scripture, Jesus created a new covenant at that time to replace the existing one, where all (although intially offered only to the Jews of the time) could be granted this fantastic honour.
