[God] did not hold back from punishing an ancient world.—2 Pet. 2:5.

Though Jehovah is patient, he is also just and will not forever tolerate wickedness. There are limits to his patience. While Noah and his family were preserved alive, that ungodly world was deluged with water. Jehovah also brought judgment upon Sodom and Gomorrah, reducing them to ashes. These judgments set “a pattern for ungodly persons of things to come.” Of this, we may be certain: “Jehovah’s day will come.” (2 Pet. 2:6; 3:10) Let us, then, imitate the patience of Jehovah by assisting others to attain to repentance so that they might be saved. Let us also imitate the prophets by patiently declaring the good news despite the unresponsiveness of those to whom we preach. Further, we can be sure that Jehovah will bless us richly if, like Job, we endure trials and maintain integrity. w 2/1/06 20, 21

To who were prophets declaring the good news too? Was this to the nations surrounding them or to their own nation?
The examples in the quoted WT are from Isaiah and Jeremiah. So, now we're stimulated to preach the same way as the prophets.
So, Watchman, you heard it, they're waiting. ;)

That'll get us thrown into the cistern for sure. But we'd be in good company, wouldn't we? :185:

Hey everyone

HMMMM well at least my shout thoughts are in harmony with the text. I always post my little shouts first and then read what's on board.

Yep, Jehovah's love for his people and love for humans to turn themselves around will not last much longer. And yepper, what is recorded for us is for our encouragement and to remind us Jehovah is just.

I have now come to appreciate that Jehovah's patience in not just taking his hand and smashing the system down is a blessing for us. Where would we have been if Jehovah had ended the system when we wanted him to. Hmmmmm.

Would we really have been ready for that? Maybe and maybe not. We know Jehovah searches hearts, but really where were we several years ago spiritually, mentally, and emotionally and what were we doing. (Ha don't ask me , you don't want to know, trust me)

I am so grateful Jehovah let me live up to this time. I am so grateful for his patience to allow me to see things unfold the way they are unfolding and to allow me to be privy to it. I am so glad that Jehovah found me fit to continue to be in his presence. In all honesty, I should not even be here right now.

PHEW, Praise Jehovah and his son for their continued putting up with us PIDDLY PITFIFUL, IMPERFECT DUSTY HUMANS.

May we all continue to hold on tight and remember that Jehovah's patience in holding back his justified anger against the nations/wicked system, and his household is truly a blessing for everyone if they would only understand and take advantage of it. (NOT)

Just some E & E thoughts.

Sisterly love,

E & E
