View Full Version : Resurrection Quetions
Ok my first question is revelation 5:9-10. vers 10 "You have made them to be a kingdom and priest to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth." Who is this scripture talking about? The 144,000 or the ones resurrected back to earth? NIV BIBLE.
Second question. 1corinthians 15:50-54, is this talking about two different resurrections? It mentions perishable/imperishable and mortal/immortality. Is there a difference between these? So is this scripture talking about two different resurrections? NIV BIBLE. I like to use other bibles because people will say, "Thats your bible not mine" Blah blah. Please help me with this as I ponder over it. Thanks!

Here is my quick take on the first scripture. One version I read said that those resurrected would be 'kings on the earth' and the NWT says 'kings over the earth.' Either way I believe that the point is moot, since the earth would be their royal domain. It is the 24 elders who are bowing and singing, so again, likely to be the 144000. As well, they sing a new song which is referenced in Rev 14:3 and is sung by the 144000, and they are the only ones who could master it.

Second scripture talks of a change, during eye-twinkling.
So this verse is not referring to two different resurrections. It is only talking about the effect of the change.
Here is the 2001 version of that span.
50 I tell you this, brothers: Flesh and blood can’t inherit God’s Kingdom, nor can [anything that's] corruptible inherit something that’s incorruptible.
51 Look, I tell you a mystery: Not all of us will be laid to rest, but we’ll be changed 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, during the last trumpet. The trumpet will blow and the dead will be raised incorruptible and we will be changed. 53 Then that which is corruptible will put on incorruptibility, and that which is dying will put on immortality. 54 But, when that which is dying puts on immortality, then the words that were written are fulfilled, Death is swallowed in victory.’
55 ‘Where is your victory, death? Where is your sting, death?’ 56 The sting that brings death is sin, and the power for sin comes from the Law. 57 But thanks to God who will give us the victory, through our Lord Jesus the Anointed One!
