If I'm not mistaken, the Watchtower teaches that the "time, times and half a time" that the "woman" is "fed in the wilderness, away from the face of the serpent", applies to the 1919-1922 period when they were "organizing" for the world-wide preaching work, and "recovering" from the 1914-1918 "persecution".
That would mean that these 3 1/2 years are a different time period that the "42 months" preaching in sackcloth, according to the Watchtower. I think they are right about this, albeit a century too soon, and in reverse order.
Now to get to the point, Ephesians 1 says:
8 This he caused to abound toward us in all wisdom and good sense, 9 in that he made known to us the sacred secret of his will. It is according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself 10 for an administration at the full limit of the appointed times, namely, to gather all things together again in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth.
Strong's Concordance says of "oikonomia": administration (of a household or estate), specifically a (religious) economy; -dispensation, stewardship.
I see several correlations here. The Holy Spirit being poured out (dispensation) on the "remaining ones" of the seed, the administration of the Kingdom. The appointing of the "faithful steward" over "all the domestics". The "Household" is what Jesus arrives to inspect. The "estate" is all of Christs belongings. Just to be thorough, Dictionary.com says of "administration":
1.the management of any office, business, or organization; direction. 2.the function of a political state in exercising its governmental duties. 3.the duty or duties of an administrator in exercising the executive functions of the position. 4.the management by an administrator of such duties. 5.a body of administrators, esp. in government. 6.(often initial capital letterhttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/luna/thinsp.png) the executive branch of the U.S. government as headed by the President and in power during his or her term of office: The Administration has threatened to veto the new bill. The Reagan administration followed President Carter's. 7.the period of service of a governmental administrator or body of governmental administrators. 8.any group entrusted with executive or administrative powers: the administration of a college. 9.Law. management of a decedent's estate by an executor or administrator, or of a trust estate by a trustee. 10.an act of dispensing, esp. formally: administration of the sacraments. 11.supervision of the taking of an oath or the like. 12.application, as of a salve or medicine.
So this is obviously the setting up of Jesus' government.
Getting back to the original point, I think this administration gets set up during the 3 1/2 years in the wilderness, with the 42 months of preaching in sackcloth to follow. Notice how Paul said "at the full limit of the appointed times"? Can anyone please help me to see how they can run concurrently? Because I just can't wrap my head around it.
