Who are 'They'
Paul wrote in Thessalonians …."Whenever it is that they are saying: "Peace and security!" then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman"
So who are 'They' that Paul was referring too.
The interpretation of the scripture appears to be somewhat ambiguous. Was Paul taking about the governmental authorities or religious leaders as was the case before the destruction of the temple by the Babylonians? Saying, 'There is peace! There is peace!' when there is no peace".
If it supposed to be intended for the religious leader does that imply the governing body of JWs. For the past few years they have been telling us we have peace with God, yet in the light of recent events such as the NGOs and child abuse cases that does not appear to be so. So do 'They' refure to the political or religious authorities or the governing body today.

Hi Kenneth
This really is hard to understand at first. It seems that the destruction is not so sudden, as Paul referred to them as "pangs of distress upon a pregnant woman", but the destruction is very near. There is some very good information on this at the May 11, 2003 mailbag. Watchman says that "they" refers to Anglo-America, as well as "them". This would signify a time immediately preceding the "death-stroke", and it could not refer to Babylon the Great because she still exists when the beast "revives".
The only problem I see with that is, Anglo-America has its hands full all over the globe (their own fault, yes), and I just can't see where they might have the opportunity to say "true peace and security" before they get the death-stroke, unless it's referring to the undertones of "true peace and security" that they've been talking about for decades. To me the "sudden destruction" would seem to be referring to Armageddon, and the "they" would be the oligarchal 8th king. At this point I'm looking at the 45 day period between the 1290 days and the 1335 days as the time of its fulfillment, but its just my opinion, and there may be events yet coming that will clarify it more.

Hi Kenneth.....the ones who think by their own means they are going to bring peace and they are in effect not looking to God Almighty or Christ , but to their own selves as the means by which true peace will come...they are encouraging for ones to look to them for peace...when we know man will never bring peace...as it does not belong to man to direct his own steps...if indeed ones were looking to the true God for peace there would be peace..but they are looking to man and they are in effect telling the people peace and security, but on theother hand we have to go to war for this peace, look at Bush and all rulers for that matter.....JW know true peace can only come through God almighty and Christ.....this is the message we bring to all...and we take no part in the wars and kill our fellow man....many JW brothers and sisters lost their lives in the concentration camps for taking a stand ...
Take care

Greetings,
I am new in here! I would say that "they" is the collective organization of nations seeking to establish their kind of "peace and security" - as it were, usurping the role that the Prince of Peace should play. I can only think about one organization doing that - the United Nations. In my imperfect understanding therefore, sudden destruction would be visited on practically all nations as represented in the UN. As a poster pointed out, the destruction will likely take time, increasing slowly in intensity over time.
I may be wrong though!

Hi Kenneth, did you see my post about the announcement from the United Nations on &th Jan that they will save us from vertually everything which Iam sure will include war, WHEN the Nations admit the concept of individual nations does not work and we need to embrase Globilisation.
Or, after the terrible wars about to come on us due to the actions of these "terrorists" and the "War on terror", we will all be quite happy to give up our soverignty, heritage, culture for a single World Government under wich there will obviously be no more international wars and they will say "Peace and Security" and whats more people will belive them and worship them for it.
So, they, will be the Zionist/Illuminati/International banker Elite, possibly under the mask of the United Nations who will say it.

I just get dumbfounded at some of the thinking of the brothers at times? Some seem to be under the impression that Armageddon is imminent, I'm talking of it happening by the time we finish the end of the Revelation book. However, in recent years few if any have made mention of the rise of the eighth king. They appear to be under the impression that we are all going to wake up one sunny morning and religion is going to be gone, no logic to it, and no build-up, just gone. Hence, JWs will be the only ones left standing with their integrity in tact, as if other religions are going to sit back and let it happen, this is their paradigm. When we consider this model we can begins to appreciate the confusion that will come about when the eighth king turns on them and other religions just sit back and wallow in triumph.
I have tried to reason on this point but so many wont have it, as if religion is going to just sit back and let the UN bring about there destruction without justification. The UN will need teeth and authority to carry it out and at percent the UN is all about tolerance and understanding, the precise opposite of what it will become. Can you imagine the UN tomorrow saying religion is banned; it's just not going to happen; it will take a cataclysmic event for the eight king to come out of the abyss that will then usher in the calamity of a Great Tribulation. Then and only then we we see the destruction of religion.

Could this have something to do with them saying peace and security as a false flag attempt to fool people? Could this be what is over the horizon? http://www.2012.com.au/NESARA28.html

I wouldnt get too excited over this New Heart, read about NESARA here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NESARA_conspiracy_theory
I think the Cry of Peace and Security will follow such a global war that when "they" come up with the solution, it will be such a relief for people of all Nations that it will have real meaning in thier lives.

While I think that Ron Paul might really be a stand-up guy, possibly proving that not every politician is in the ruling-elite's back pocket, he doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Gehenna of ever sniffing the White House or to even have his voice heard on a large scale. He was portrayed by the mainstream media as a buffoon when I last saw him being given any attention.
NESARA looks like every good guy's pipe dream. Sorry to say but I don't think the Fed is going to be undone before it wipes out Constitutional America along with the rest of the "free" world. Prophecy can't fail. Jehovah has commissioned the 8th king to take it all down. It's corrupt and it's gotta go.
What all of this proves to me is that we are ever so close to the TRIB. All of this might be prevented if a lot more than 2 percent of the lemmings would wake up, but it ain't gonna happen. Waaaayyyy too many people only care about Hollywood gossip nonsense and who's gonna be picked in the NFL draft.
I do love your enthusiasm tho, sis New Heart.
