Sheep Without A Shepherd
A sheep without a shepherd is forsaken and forlorn
Trembling and abandoned their fleece matted and unshorn
Seeking a place of safety as they search to no avail
Wandering helpless all alone they cry with plaintive wail.
Wolves take notice of their plight a victim they do see
Easy picking are the stricken as they bend on wounded knee
Surrounding their helpless victim they will wait till weakness shows
A break in resolve to endure the strike and fend off mortal blows.
Pressed on they show no mercy flank and hoof they rip apart
So rapacious are the wolves to eat they eat the beating heart
Is anything more pitiable as the helpless are destroyed
By those who feed themselves to live and render life a void.
Jehovah gives us shepherds now to shepherd all the flock
To treat the sheep with tenderness and not his trust to mock
He tells them with their very lives protect my trusting sheep
Who look to them for guidance just because his sheep are meek.
The Bible says the shepherds fail to honor Jah's request
To treat the flock with tenderness by shepherding and rest
How Jehovah and His son are grieved by promise failed
To see their sheep so skinned and fleeced tormented and impaled.
Jehovah's sense of justice does demand them to account
For their great lack of loyalty to standards which they flaunt
In all their blind corruption as they think Jah does not see
They will themselves bear the full brunt of their own travesty.
Woe to the shepherds scattering reproaching Jah's great name
For they themselves are so exposed their own name they defame
Are all the shepherds blameless when Christ Jesus does inspect
The scriptures say that they are not to their own detriment.
Take heart you scattered wounded sheep Jehovah knows his own
He sees your plight and suffering and brings you safely home
Christ Jesus is his warrior and he leads The Warrior's call
Re-gather all my missing sheep and feed them one and all.
