Hello Friends...hope that all of you are well and enduring...

I've read of horrendous stories of Nazi concentration camps, and of ones who survived them...

The Jews had no choice to go or not ... just by virtue of being a Jew they were imprisoned.....but as for our brothers and sisters who were JW...they had a choice...there were some 6000 who were imprisoned, if memory serves me....they were imprisoned for not doing the hiel(sp?) Hitler...which was showing and acknowledging Hitler to be their god...

I remember reading in the 1975 year book of JW how the greatest concentration of anointed brothers and sisters were in Germany....one brother related how he witnessed a Nazi officer shoot his brother to death after his brother told of his great love for Jehovah...the officer shot him dead right before his brothers eyes....its a fact the germans trusted the JW , so they were allowed to do chores as housemaids and such for the officers....this surviving brother said he was in the position to kill the officer who had earlier killed his brother...but he said how could he take the strength that he prayed to Jehovah to give him and use that strength to do evil.

This is a legacy the JW have left ..of their deep and abiding love for Jehovah and their display of Christ like love for their fellow man in not taking part in wars to kill fellow human beings....

I hope all have a blessed and fruitful day

Hi Fruitage,

Thanks for bringing up this topic. It is true that JW's have given a nice example during this critical period.
Living in Belgium is close to where it all happened.
We had a very good annointed CO who has survived the concentration camps. He has served our congregation for a long time. Now he is very old.
But if you hear the story of what he has been through, it is just amazing.
One thing I know is they hung him with a meat hook in his mouth. You can still hear this when he's talking.
He also survived the march of death. At the end of the war, the germans forced the prisoners of certain camps for a long walk to put them on ships to sink them. The JW's supported each other and all of them survived this.
You can read his story in the WT 98/01/01 (Brother Van Der Bijl).

I know what you mean, Barry. I live in the Netherlands, and I've had the opportunity of visiting two expositions, one of them in Westerbork, which was a deportation camp in WWII. Although Jehovah's Witnesses were a minority in most camps, they certainly left a big impression, preaching to people and showing true brotherly love by taking care of each other in the camps. This goes to show that even from a horrible situation, good things can come out of it, and in the end it strengthens the faith of those involved and those hearing and seeing the stories, and it's a strong testimony that shows the truth of John 13:35.

I wonder how much it matters what someones political affiliation or philosophy is if they are prepared to stick a sword or bullet into you simply because you disagree with them.

That is true fruitage, the idolatory doesn`t make it easy though.

I am well, so your hope is fulfilled. Thank you.
