So should we get permission first to post newspaper articles or the like? Or can we just post them?

Just confused a bit on the wording.

If it's from a well-known newspaper, you can go ahead and post it. But ALWAYS include the name of the source, the writer, the date of publication, and the URL (if applicable). If any of these are left out, we will remove the article posted.

If it's from a newspaper that isn't well-known, you can still go ahead and post it, along with the required information as noted above. If it's problematic, we will remove it.

The other thing that we want to avoid here is having so many links and articles posted that we get the impression that the DB has become a clearinghouse for Witness-related news and such. So, we ask that you exercise diligence in this matter out of respect for our concerns. Also, we don't want to see an imbalance in the articles/news items posted. This means that there should be as many (if not more) positive articles than negative, to keep with our standard for the board to not allow discussions to become predominantly negative, critical, and judgmental.

As always, we want to remind everyone that if you find an article and it just isn't appropriate for the open board (when in doubt, contact the board owner), you can discuss it privately in PM or, better yet, off the board entirely so as not to detract from the focus and purpose of the site.

Hope that helps.
