Paul Balzereit

The other day, Viking mentioned an incident regarding a brother named Paul Balzereit, in the "More Trouble In Spiritual Paradise" thread. Not being familiar with the incident Viking mentioned, I decided to Google the brother's name. The information I found seems to indicate that not only did WT leaders (including Rutherford) attempt to "sleep with the enemy" back in 1933, but that they also blatantly lied about the incident in the 1974 Yearbook. In 1998 an Awake article was published which admitted Balzereit was innocent, while lamely trying to explain away the anti-Semitic statements made in the 1933 declaration.

My only comment on this caper is to say that whatever unfaithfulness was exhibited by the leadership of the Watchtower in no way nullifies the faithfulness of the German JW's in their standing firm against Hitler and the Nazis.

Absolutely! It's always about the shepherds, leading the sheep to the slaughter. I'm afraid the past track record of these wolves in sheep's clothing doesn't bode well for the future of JW's. History has a way of repeating itself, and we have a global Nazi Fascist regime coming.

What I found encouraging when doing my research was how the average brother and sister maintained their integrity to Jehovah and their neutrality in regards to the world, in spite of the actions taken by those in positions of leadership. It made me feel that when push comes to shove, those whose hearts are complete towards Jehovah will not compromise or betray their brothers and sisters.

When I first read about the Watchtower as a NGO I was sort of surprised but you know, there is no telling what all will happen before this system ends. It fills my heart with such joy, when I see persons joining the forum who in their heart truly follow and trust Jehovah and not men, despite the terrible hardships you&#39;ve been through. Welcome to the board. You&#39;ve really encouraged me.
