It makes a whole lot of sense that the dominant nations of the modern world would suffer an economic disaster that end this power structure.

Christ was betrayed for money, and people betray each other for it today. The bible has reports of cheating scales, worship of the calf idol was a betrayal of Jehovah and it was made out of gold.

Gold, Silver and riches are the basis of many proverbs of bible truths which are really modern truths. The dominant nations of the present world power structure lord over lesser lands and enslave thier people to corperate production. War`s over oil revenues.

It makes alot of sense that a great downfalls and uprisings that are reflected in prophetic symbolism at the end of this system would be connected to the systems of finance, and of buying and seling.

I must confess that I may have missed it in previous essays, but I was very interested to hear you mention that the 42 month period commences from the beginning of the reign of the Eighth King. There have been a few attempts on the DB to create some sort of time line of events from I suppose the point when the GT begins, so for me this was another piece of the puzzle.

My wife was talking to an elder recently who, because she mentioned the potential length of the GT and the period leading up to Armaggedon, kindly corrected her misunderstanding by reminding her of the fulfilment post 1914. Of course at that point she realised that what she now accepted so clearly was utterly veiled to him. She knew that all along of course, but at that moment she realised the depth of the error and truly felt sorry for him. I think possibly one of the worst side effects of the WTS understanding of the GT and the fall of BTG is the utter shock which the rank and file brothers and sisters are going to experience. My heart does go out to elderly ones who mistakenly think that if they can just hold on to life until "instant destruction" falls upon false religion, all their troubles will be over "instantly". What a cruel deception!

This is a true conversation that recently took place with two sisters.
Sis A had left two years ago, her dear friend sis B stayed, as she feels all will be ok, and she must trust the GB as this is Gods Channel in her eyes.
Sis A has said all she could about what she knows, but its like water running off of a ducks back/
Well any way B said to A she is all ready to go.As soon as they get the word ,they are to be ready to leave immeditately.
Where you going asked A !!
Well ,we don't know yet that will be Jehovahs decision.says B We are not to question.
Dont you think it would be wise to maybe store some extra food asked A
Of course not says B that would not be trusting in Jehovah!
In fact we were told says B not to pay attention or get upset at whats going on in the world that Jehovah will watch over us. Sis B went on to say there are families already that will NOT watch the News on TV.
Subject was dropped,as sis B was getting upset over sis A not going along with the GB.

It certainly isn't faith in our Master or Head Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to KEEP ON THE WATCH, to STAYAWAKE , he also told us when we seen all these troubles to know our deliverence is getting near.

I get sick when I see that the strong hold that the WT have on THEIR subjects is based on FEAR. How deceptive ,Like EF brought out HOW CRUEL. No love there.
This hold certainly isn't coming from Jehovah, as HE is our STRONGHOLD. Its really amazing how those inside cannot see what those outside looking in can see. Its like two different worlds.
THey have put and built their Faith on man, so out of fear must stay in subjection.They really don't have anything else.

You don&#39;t just speak for yourself. I totally agree with you and Eli&#39;s Foe that it just hurts my heart to not be able to say anything to the brothers and sisters that can penetrate the suit of armor that the WTS has developed amongst the witnesses. They can&#39;t hear, see, or think past the dictates of the Society.

I can&#39;t tell you how many times I wanted to fill someone in on an aspect that would have benefitted them, but time and again I just couldn&#39;t figure out how to start the conversation without creating an adverse reaction resulting in a closed mind. This has to be the work of Satan to be so impenetrable. Unless they are already seeing things that they are objecting to they don&#39;t seem to have the capacity to comprehend anything except what the WTS tells them. In fact, they are even on guard to carefully reject anything that doesn&#39;t agree with the WTS teachings.

It&#39;s just sad, like you both say. I just wish I knew how to phrase my thoughts so they would catch their attention, even for a second so they would have to consider an opposing view, but I haven&#39;t figured it out. I guess they have to want to know or be questioning the teachings before the is any hope of getting through to them.

I think it&#39;s important to remember that if these people have the mental capacities to see what is wrong and yet choose to do nothing, they will have deserved their judgement. If however, they lack the means to discern right from wrong in the organization and we can&#39;t get through to them somehow, I am sure that Jehovah will take that into consideration.

Hello stayawake and all,

Let us continue to pray for our brothers and sisters that their eyes may be opened. And that if they truly are remaining awake and on the watch that Jehovah will allow them to see. While the entire UN scandal was/is attrocious, let us keep considering that the major fault for this lies with the leaders who sold us into servitude. We all bear a personal responsibility before Jehovah for our involvement, but as per Paul&#39;s words, not many should become teachers, for they will bear a heavier responsibility. This can be likened to the sins of Manasseh. The extent to which he sinned, even going so far as to hold mal-intent toward Jehovah and trying to offend Him, is perhaps unrivaled in the Biblical record. Yet, the nation as a whole suffered for his misgivings. However, Jehovah did not cut off every man, woman and child in the land...as they each held their personal accounting with Him. Jehovah also FORGAVE Manasseh.

It is true, stayawake that we will bear guilt for our participation in this fiasco. Thus the reason that we should use opportunities as they arise to speak truth. I do not believe any here are kidding ourselves about the seriousness of this offense. But Jehovah knows how to temper His Justice with Mercy, this is what makes Him equated to Love in 1John. The key lies in knowledge or ignorance, and the subsequent demonstration of willfull intent. Consider Jesus&#39; words: "19 Now this is the basis for judgment, that the light has come into the world but men have loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were wicked." - John 3:19 The scripture here gives a glimpse into Jehovah&#39;s basis for our judgement...that being loving darkness IN SPITE OF having been ENLIGHTENED. Many of our dear brothers and sisters are still laboring under false pretenses and have yet to be given the information, the enlightenment of the situation, if you will. As a matter of fact, were we not all in that same place not so long ago ourselves? Who here was not, and in some cases rather recently, out in the field ministry preaching the 1914 doctrine, beating the drum for the prematurely usurped FDS or publishing "another sort of good news", all the while completely oblivious to what drivel about the wild beast we were pandering? Thus, in a manner, we all need to be forgiven for our sins and our complicity, but the basis for that judgement is LOVING THE DARKNESS...and I believe our acceptance of the reality of the matters of our organizational past, based on knowledge, and our request in good conscience to Jehovah to cleanse and forgive our error is evidence of our LOVING TRUTH.

While the sin and error in this matter is VERY HEAVY, let&#39;s not turn a blind eye to the import of the message of the GENUINE GOOD NEWS that Paul speaks of in Galatians 1:6: "I marvel that YOU are being so quickly removed from the One who called YOU with Christ&#39;s undeserved kindness over to another sort of good news." I am in agreement with you, stayawake, as well as Molly and Eli&#39;s Foe, that the Watchtower has precipitated a cruel deception towards our brotherhood. A large part of that deception is the lie that Jehovah is a cruel God that is just itching to destroy rather than rebuild and repair, that Jehovah is just biding His time until Armageddon in order to wipe out the majority of the human race, leaving only Jehovah&#39;s Witnesses in "good standing" and their properly progressing bible students. This is not the Father of whom our Shepherd spoke or taught. ""Have I been with YOU men so long a time, and yet, Philip, you have not come to know me? He that has seen me has seen the Father [also]."" - John 14:9. It is with loving kindness, in imitation of our Father that we should assist those still ensnared and held captive to this cruel deception.
