(NIV) Matt. 24:
4 Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ, and will deceive many.
I have often read this scripture but stopped at the thought about being deceived as being bad enough so as to try not to be deceived by false Christs. But now giving it some more thought I am wondering to myself, "to what end"? Alright, so some will be deceived and some won't. But for those who are deceived by false Christs what is it that has deceived them and how dose it put them in a bad position? Is this scripture related to Rev. 14:12 because of whats found at (NIV) Matt. 24:24; For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.
Jesus goes to greater length in warning about false Christs and False Prophets during the time of the great tribulation then he does on any other aspect of it. He starts out warning first about it and then ends warning us about it. Is that why many will mourn when the Son of Man does arrive as Matt. 24:30 states, because they were deceived?
So my question is, what will our being deceived cause us to do?
