Me too, loved using a dictionary.

I must admit, in some of RK’s articles and videos I occasionally have to break out the dictionary-but for the most part I love that he does not shy away from using vocabulary that is elevated above a 3rd grader’s level!

Hebrews 5:13,14 says:
13 For everyone who continues to feed on milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness, for he is a young child.14 But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their powers of discernment trained to distinguish both right and wrong.

I admit to using dictionary.com and their thesaurus. I tend to use the same words over and over again, so thesauruses are a handy tool

Excellent point. Last meeting I attended, things had not changed quite so much but from what I'm reading now it's quite different. That doesn't even address the change in the level of writing from the writing committee. It reads like fourth grade material now. I was always of the mind that our literature raised people's reading skills and comprehension. Whenever I would read one of the really old books I kept a dictionary nearby.

I remember being a bit confused at times, studying the old books, but at least I felt like I was learning SOMETHING! And I was probably in the 4th grade then.
Honestly I don't know how anyone stays awake at the meetings these days. Everything is monotone, from the prayers to the talks to the watchtowers, even the brothers and sisters answering questions all sounds like they're on downers. I was listening in on the meetings via phone but stopped recently. Seemed like my time would be better spent studying on my own.
It's kind of sad really but it's as Jehovah said(slightly out of context) "my people like it that way". I even had a brother tell me he was glad that they had made everything so simple and easy, and then the usual... "We need the reminders and there are always new ones coming in, so of course, we keep going over the same information".
So glad to be here, where we are learning and growing in so many ways.

How about some slang from Urban Dictionary? Just be careful what you use since there's A LOT of crazy expressions. Lol
